Seventeenth heaven from the prince with a thousand amazing songs, or rather the artist formerly known as prince with close to a thousand amazing songs at that particular stage in his career. The 90s was a time which saw an even greater avalanche of album activity from him, often of a vault-clearing, totally contract-obliging nature. Even amongst genuine hit-laden, multi-platinum smashes and triple disc statements of artistic freedom, 1995’s The Gold Experience still shines as his most brilliant work for that decade. With that being said, the album starts off with "P Control"....It's very explicit, but it does talk about a woman not letting guys get over on her...

To further celebrate the announcement of this important re-release, the music video for “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”has been newly-enhanced to High Definition and added to Prince’s official YouTube channel for the very first time. The Artist (Formerly Known As Prince) - Pussy Control / 319 (CD) at Discogs". Discogs. August 11, 1995 . Retrieved June 1, 2017.Swimming not too far behind it is Dolphin which is another super playful yet more pointed pop gem that stands out moreso lyrically than for the purest melodic bliss of the song that it is tailing. It broaches furthest on the subject of spirituality, standing up for oneself and defying your oppressors, perhaps even relating to Prince’s own constant struggles with Warner Records. The imagery of becoming a dolphin, running into your adversaries and potentially having your fins cut off is potentially a little weird though. Maybe if Kevin Smith took this as inspiration instead of walruses he would have come up with a less crummier body horror movie and called it Bottlenose.

The album had been preceded 19 months earlier by the single The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, but this had not been connected to an album at the time. Dolphin, P. Control and Endorphinmachine had been available as promotional singles in one form or another prior to the album, but Hate U was the first commercial single release from the album, followed by Gold a few months later.

Salaverri, Fernando (September 2005). Sólo éxitos: año a año, 1959–2002 (1sted.). Spain: Fundación Autor-SGAE. ISBN 84-8048-639-2. In simplest explanation, Gold Experience just has one of the strongest top ends for a Prince album ever. "Dolphin", "Endorphinmachine", and "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" are all stunners. I didn't initially love "Pussy Control", but I've seen the error of my ways. My, what a hook on that one. And of course "Gold" comes straight for "Purple Rain"'s throne, and doesn't come too far short either. Pareles, Jon (September 17, 1995). "Still Moaning, Still Shimmying". The New York Times. ISSN 0362-4331. OCLC 1645522 . Retrieved September 16, 2011. TheGoldExperiencewas the first full-length Prince album to be credited to his unpronounceable symbol, and was released at the most public, heated stage of his battle with the major label industrial complex. With the word “SLAVE” written on one cheek, Prince shined on the opulent ballads “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” and “Gold” and the defiant single “Eye Hate U,” and the album earned widespread critical acclaim.

Every use of the pronoun "I" throughout the song titles and liner notes is represented by a stylized "👁" symbol. This symbol is commonly transliterated as "Eye" amongst Prince fans, as "👁 No" and "I Wish U Heaven" both appeared on Lovesexy. Listen – Danmarks Officielle Hitliste – Udarbejdet af AIM Nielsen for IFPI Danmark – Uge 39". Ekstra Bladet (in Danish). Copenhagen. October 1, 1995. The 1990s weren't kind to The Kid. As we all know, Prince just doesn't respond well to being told that he can't, and the disputes with his record label en route to starting his own lead to a homogenized, inconsistent decade ahead, not helped by Prince's wild eccentricities that got him seriously bad press during this period. So erratic a time, in fact, that it wound up creating the image of Prince as the out-of-touch, delusional former innovator we know today.

The album also had a "NPG Operator" in between the songs (played by "Rain Invana"), which keeps the album running smooth....
