Brother Zael - Brother Zael served in the elite 1 st Company under Captain Raphael during late sixth century of the 41st Millennium and took part in the cleansing of the Space Hulk known as the Sin of Damnation in 589.M41. Zael had communed with the Emperor every day of his life since he was an infant on the rad-trails of Baal's dust sea. He rarely smiled, but within his breast burned the fire of hope. His own transformation from a scavenging mongrel to one of the Emperor's chosen was proof that the Blood Angels could overcome all obstacles. Zael carried Squad Lorenzo's Heavy Flamer, which he used to bring purifying flame to the wretches who opposed the Imperium. Zael knew that humanity was destined to rule the stars. In fact, he intended to make sure of it. His self-belief and unshakeable courage made him a reliable and reassuring presence within Squad Lorenzo. Based on simple and easy to learn rules, and played on board sections mirroring the claustrophobic confines of a colossal void-borne derelict, Space Hulk has been a favourite of Warhammer 40,000 fans since it’s first incarnation. An Ultramarines Terminator Squad commanded by a 1st Company Veteran sergeant surrounding the Teleport Homer that allowed them to teleport down to a planetary surface.

Brother Omnio - Brother Omnio served in the elite 1 st Company under Captain Raphael during the late sixth century of the 41st Millennium. He most famously took part in the cleansing of the Space Hulk known as the Sin of Damnation in 589.M41. Amongst the aesthetically-minded Blood Angels, Omnio was something of an oddity; he was driven by logic and intellectual curiosity. He was analytical, distant even, a quality that sometimes raised suspicions amongst his Battle-Brothers but also ensured that in the heart of a fight he was clear-headed and could be relied upon for vital tactical analysis. Sergeant Gideon once joked that Omnio was a Servitor who had been promoted to the 1st Company by mistake. Unsurprisingly, Omnio didn't see what was funny about that. Newly-formed Space Marine Chapters often have difficulty obtaining large numbers of suits of this armour, especially because older, more prestigious Chapters have greater priority. Terminator Armour, created just before the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, is incredibly rare. Space Marines hold it a great honour to be permitted to wear such a suit in battle, and it is only to members of the Chapter's elite 1st Company who have earned the status of Veterans that this honour is granted. But that’s not all – the kit also includes 5 Crux Terminatus shoulder pads specially designed to fit on the left shoulders, as well as 8 unique shoulder pads featuring Blood Angels iconography for the right shoulders. For added customization, there are 12 tilting plates that can fit on the front of the shoulder pads. The torso fronts offer further options, with 4 of them featuring helmeted heads sculpted into them and the fifth offering the option to add one of the 5 spare heads included in the set.

Keep an eye out for the Sergeant’s storm shield, which stands out as the largest in the box.

This list is possibly a bit harsh in 1,500 pts, but I think it will be very fun to play. Put the Contemptors down in cover on turn 1, and then everything will land down due to the Rite of War. Spread them out, lay down fire with the Angel’s Tears, and run the Contemptors up. Finally, we come to the appallingly written rule The Blood is Forever , which apparently justifies the entire existence of this unit. When in combat with a unit which outnumbers them (remember that!), Crimson Paladins get Feel No Pain (5+). If outnumbered by more than twice their own number they get Feel No Pain (4+). Independent Characters do not contribute to the calculations here. The left shoulder plate of a suit of Terminator Armour always carries the large solid stone icon known as the Crux Terminatus . This doubles as a tactical symbol and as a revered honour badge. Each Crux is reputed to have bound within its core a tiny fragment of the battle armour worn by the Emperor during His epic duel with Horus the Arch-traitor ten thousand years ago. The design of this ancient badge can vary considerably, even within a single unit or Chapter. Sergeants' and officers' Crux tend to be more elaborate and finely detailed than those worn by normal battle-brothers, but all are venerated equally. To lose even a single Crux in battle is to betray the Emperor's trust and bring great shame down on the entire Chapter."The benefits are considerable. All Jump Infantry arrive on turn 1 using Deep Strike , with no need to roll for Reserves, and get a 5+ cover save on the turn they arrive. When they arrive they also gain Pinning for the turn they arrive on shooting weapons, and then have +1 initiative on a turn they charge into assault. This means that you have, on turn 1 of a close combat, +1 initiative and +1 to Wound – I can hear Emperor’s Children players weeping gently! Heavy Flamer or Reaper Autocannon (As replacement for Combi-bolter for 1 Tartaros Terminator for every 5 in squad) The “downsides” are a mixed bag – you must issue and accept Challenges with Characters and, crucially, any unit which benefits from the Feel No Pain by the end of the game no longer counts as scoring and instead counts as destroyed for the purposes of Victory Points. Now if you hold the old and new models side by side, you notice that the helmet on the Leviathan Terminator has actually become minimally smaller, which makes the body look even bigger. The shoulder pads are actually the same size, so older shoulder pads from the Dark Angels or Blood Angels Terminator sets match size-wise. But keep in mind that the shoulder pads on the Leviathan Terminators are moulded to the arms and not separate.

Alongside these developments, the Emperor initiated a program to develop a new suit of power armour that would provide even greater protection than that offered by the standard marks of power armour for Space Marines.After the Spear is thrown, Sanguinius switches to the Moonsilver Blade , which is AP 3 (hmm) but causes Blind , +1 Initiative in a Challenge, and causes double Wounds to Daemons and Psykers. This weapon, frankly, isn’t that good, so only use it if you’re comfortable throwing the Spear won’t cause you problems down the line. Fast forward to 2009, when Space Hulk once more dropped from Warp-space into stores.
