About this deal

Flashman and the Dragon". British Library Catalogue. London: British Library . Retrieved 3 February 2013. Cleonie Grouard (aka Mrs Arthur B. Candy), one of "Miss Susie's gels" ( Flashman and the Redskins). With her he had a son, Frank Grouard. Fraser, George MacDonald (2005). Flashman on the March. London: HarperCollins. The Subtleties of Baccarat" has Flashman at the home of Sir Arthur Wilson with the Prince of Wales, just when the royal baccarat scandal is unfolding. Unlike in most Flashman stories, he is mainly an observer of the event, simply giving bad advice when asked to. However, in a twist, someone he has known for years unexpectedly turns out to be the most important player in the story. He had a special penchant for royal ladies, and noted that his favourite amours (apart from his wife) were Lakshmibai, Ci Xi and Lola Montez: "a Queen, an Empress, and the foremost courtesan of her time: I dare say I'm just a snob." He also noted that, while civilized women were more than ordinarily partial to him, his most ardent admirers were among the savage of the species: "Elspeth, of course, is Scottish." And for all his raking, it was always Elspeth to whom he returned and who remained ultimately top of the list. It is hard now, with Flashman recognised as an international comic classic, to believe that Fraser had difficulty getting the book published. Flashman was turned down a dozen times before Herbert Jenkins, the small independent house best known for publishing PG Wodehouse, brought it out.Fraser, George MacDonald (2000). Flashman and the Tiger. London: HarperCollins. ISBN 978-0-00-651367-4.

Selina Flashman - She is Flashman's nineteen-year-old granddaughter. With uncharacteristic sentimentality Flashman is prepared to spend much of his fortune in preserving "Selly's" innocence from the licentious Moran. This proves to be wasted effort when he discovers that she has become one of the Prince of Wales' mistresses. Crampton, Robert (2 July 2022). "Rereading Flashman by George MacDonald Fraser". The Times . Retrieved 12 August 2022.During the course of Fraser's novels, Flashman goes from his expulsion from school into the army. Although he is a coward who tries to run away from any danger, he is involved in many famous military episodes from the 19th century, often taking actions that cause or affect subsequent events, such as his flatulence affecting the Charge of the Light Brigade, [a] or being the person who probably shot George Armstrong Custer. When circumstances run against him and he is forced to fight, he often does so relatively capably. Despite his cowardice and his attempts to flee, he becomes a decorated war hero and rises to the rank of brigadier-general. He also meets people who either were notable at the time—such as Benjamin Disraeli and the Duke of Wellington—or who became well known after Flashman met them—such as Abraham Lincoln. Flashman either has, or tries to have, sex with most of the female characters: by the tenth book he estimates that he has had sex with 480 women. Flashman's Lady is a 1977 novel by George MacDonald Fraser. It is the sixth of the Flashman novels. I've been in need of cheering up the last few weeks—a combination of personal and national strife—and when you need cheering up, there's no man for the job like Flashy.
