About this deal

These are the meals Gino and his family eat time and time again. The recipes grew from years of cooking for and alongside his wife and three children. They represent the Italian way of cooking, catering to the whole family's diverse tastes in a way that is often effortless and always satisfying. His new show, Gino’s Italian Family Adventure, starts on Monday, November 8 at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub. Gino’s life doesn’t revolve around rose petals scattered across the bedroom floor or candle-lit bubble baths and he's actually so busy with his businesses and TV career he hardly gets to spend any time with his wife. He landed a cooking segment on This Morning, then became a household name starring on I'm a Celebrity, before joining the likes of Celebrity Juice and hosting Family Fortunes.

The trip will culminate with Gino taking his wife on a romantic journey to Puglia to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in the so-called “village of love”. I don’t care about flowers or chocolates or anything like that, that’s not me," Gino told The Mirror in 2014. The restaurant was Gino’s first job as head chef and Jessica was employed there as a waitress - and was the setting for romance. Gordon then got flustered when Tilly, who is currently starring in Strictly Come Dancing, started becoming friendly with Gino's eldest son, Luciano, leading to an awkward conversation. But it certainly wasn't love at first sight as they actually spent the first few weeks arguing before sharing their first kiss in the meat fridge.

Jessica and I don’t really spend any time together," he revealed. "I think that’s one of the reasons we’ve lasted for 20 years. It’s a good thing, I don’t really want to know everything my wife does, because otherwise she will be boring to me." Although when Jonathan asked if it was an "arranged marriage", Gordon described the situation as a "f***ing nightmare". Jessica was the driving force behind Gino's decision to move permanently to the UK, which he credits with his success. When asked about his favourite moment in filming the series, Gino replied, “I think when I took my son Rocco to Torre Del Greco, which was the town that I was born - that probably was the highlight of the series for me. To be able to take Rocco around Naples on a scooter, and for him to understand the mentality of Neapolitan people, definitely a highlight for me.”

My wife goes for dinner with male friends and I go for dinner with female friends or business friends. Taking my British-born bambinos from rustic Sardinia to my crazy hometown Naples and immersing them in the amazing places that only the locals know…This is what Italy is all about, simplicity, family and great food!”In his ultimate family cookbook, Gino takes inspiration from his upbringing in Napoli, transporting the classic methods and ingredients he grew up with to the modern family table. I run a family kitchen and in my house we don't have options. I never had options, why should they?"

Speaking to the Daily Star, Gino revealed that the secret to their 19 year marriage was giving each other their own space. The childhood sweethearts met as teenagers in 1995 when they both worked in Sylvester Stallone's Mambo King restaurant in Marbella. Famous Italian chef Gino D’Acampo will be returning to Italy for a new series, this time taking his wife and children with him.For more of the news you care about, straight to your inbox, sign up for one of our daily newsletters here.
