About this deal

Her house was finally her own. No raucous music on the weekends, no mysterious lifeforms in the refrigerator, no one to notice when she came home on the wrong side of midnight. She closed her eyes and reveled in the long-awaited solitude. The mcs' characterization - the H is said to cynical but that's not how he's actually portrayed in the book. He's shown as sweet, generous, attentive and amusing and uses silly humor to make the h feel comfortable or to get a smile from her.

This series was written by two authors; Lily Danes and Eve Kincaid. Each book was written by either Ms. Danes or Ms. Kincaid, they weren’t coauthored. Books that are coauthored can be a wonderful read that is so seamless that the reader doesn’t know who wrote what, it’s a cohesive story. Or, the book can be a hot mess, and it feels like the reader is reading two different stories within the same book. I really dislike that. I felt heart wrenchingly sorry for secondary character Catherine Adelaide Thorndale. She has musical talent and hidden personal resources. When life becomes quieter I am very pleased to see she thrives. She is my favorite character of this story. Suggest a game. You can go up to just about anyone and ask them if they want to play a game, and then suggest a game or bet with stakes that involves them kissing you if something specific happens. This is a great technique because it gives the other person the option to say that they aren’t interested without having to give a direct yes or no to a question as blunt as: "Can I kiss you?" It also preserves the feeling that perhaps they didn’t choose to kiss you, and only ended up doing it because they lost the game. Warning! Even if you win the game, if the other person declines to kiss you, you should not try to kiss them anyway - that would be harassment. A couple examples of some good games are: Bree was undeterred. It doesn’t need to be a hot night. You’re probably a bit rusty, so you should aim for tepid. Have a starter date first. Maddie groaned. She loved Lost Coast Harbor, but there were serious downsides to living in a small town. I didn’t tell anyone. If I had, everyone in town would be debating the pros and cons of me dating a Donnelly. It’s coffee, she insisted. A starter date. Nothing more.

A few minutes later, Maddie climbed into bed. She wore flannel pajamas, like she did most nights. This set was covered in monkeys and made her smile every time she put them on. There was an undeniable joy in wearing whatever she wanted. She slid between the sheets and sprawled across the queen-sized bed, claiming it for her own. Just a couple things about the worst part of the book: That Uncle… our villain was ATROCIOUS! I hated him. And he said “Wench” way too much… 😂😂🤣 While the book wasn’t the best it was ok and it had funny moments but most of the conflicts were so forced that it made me hate the characters

This wasn’t the California of the movies, all beaches and bikinis and smiling tanned faces. This place was fog and lashing rain. It was wind that bit at your ears and made your eyes water. Maybe it was pleasant in summer, but summer was still a long way off. I thought I heard you come in. Bree strode down the narrow stairs, looking far too awake for that time of night. Then again, Bree had never kept a regular schedule. Even in high school, she’d been as likely to be wide awake at four a.m. on a weekday as not. Gabe kept to the shadows, stepping lightly down the metal stairs built into the cliff. A stranger in the town center was unexpected enough. An unfamiliar face lurking around the harbor at midnight would raise questions he didn’t want to answer. But she also needed a change from her ex. Charlie was trouble through and through, and he always had been. It was one of the reasons she fell for him. Gabe is an ex-con with revenge and clearing his name on his mind when he enters Lost Coast Harbor. One of the first people he meets is Maddie and there is chemistry between them from the very beginning. Maddie has a past that has led her to err on the side of caution rather than take risks and Gabe seems like a big risk to her in so very many ways. Their relationship grows steadily and strengthens as situations appear and then are dealt with. Maddie’s friends are interesting and will no doubt be in future books of the series – I certainly hope so anyway.

To her credit, eventually the author has Crispin realize that an annulment is not that easy to obtain. But to my puzzlement, at the same time, Crispin and his new wife Catherine are out and about, going to society gatherings, pretending an affectionate marriage. If an annulment is the ultimate goal, shouldn't Catherine be shuffled off somewhere and not show her face until it comes through? Any sort of bet. Notice something going on around you, and say something like: "I'll bet you a kiss that ____________." She was pretty enough. Her dark brown hair was pulled into such a tight bun he wondered if it made her head ache. She squeaked into the tall range, maybe five-eight or so, and she wore sensible brown flats rather than heels. Her pants were brown as well, her top a perfectly serviceable white button-down that hung on her narrow frame. Her features might have been nice, if her mouth wasn’t pursed and her brow furrowed.

A couple of locals opened the front door, bringing a burst of noise and light with them. Gabe ambled to the other side of the road, not moving too fast. He didn’t want to draw attention to himself. Bree grinned and turned toward the kitchen. Three, she called over her shoulder, and only if you give me all the details.

Only the bar remained open. He’d read about it and seen pictures on the Internet, but it was still startling to see Donnelly’s Pub in person. After years of research and planning, it was finally real. La sinopsis no sé si es eso o una interpretación de la novela, pero últimamente algunas me están impresionando (para mal), o te cuentan demasiado o ponen cosas que no tienen nada que ver con la historia.

A nicely bound plot of suspenseful mystery coiled around a romance, with the added setting of a hush-hush town embroiled secretively in the lower levels of corruption. The h is an abused and browbeaten young woman, niece to a villainous man who wishes to be rid of her. So, when he catches the H giving her a kiss, he forces the two to marry instantly. The H, btw, had kissed the 'servant girl' to get rid of a persistent miss who had a tendency to appear everywhere he goes - even here, at a country inn.
