About this deal

Costa Teguise is a purpose built resort, which started to take shape in the 1970s, under the aegisof César Manrique. It was initially developed as anup marketalternative to Puerto del Carmen and became very popular with German and Scandinavian tourists during the 1980´s.Anchored by the 5 star Hotel Gran Melia Salinas and thePueblo Marinero. There’s a name you’ll be hearing a lot of as you explore Lanzarote: César Manrique. He’s the architectural genius behind much of the island’s merging of nature and tourism. He saw the beauty of his island and wanted to preserve it for future generations.

Along the route there are informative signs (in several languages) explaining the history and geology of the crater. This walk is one of the best free things to do in Lanzarote for families – kids will love running around inside the crater! How amazing is the volcanic scenery at Caldera de Los Cuervos? Art in Lanzarote

SCUBA divers will love exploring the Museo Atlántico – an underwater sculpture museum designed by Jason deCaires Taylor. There are over 300 life-size casts resting on the seabed close to Playa Blanca. Divers will love Museo Atlántico Lanzarote (Photo courtesy of Museo Atlántico Lanzarote) As for hiking in Lanzarote, there is no better place in the Canaries for just strolling, but trekkers will also be able to put part of the GR131 under their belts. Each of the walks in this book takes you to a different corner of the island and shows you a scenically different outlook.

See nature and architecture meet at Jameos del Agua If you are hiring a car and exploring the island it´s highly likely that you will be passing through Teguise at some stage as it is en route to many attractions in the North and in quite close proximity to the beach at Famara. TiasPuerto del Carmen • Tahiche • Arrieta • Jameos del Água • Cueva de los Verdes • Órzola • Mirador del Río • Haría • The last eruption was in 1824, so don’t fear about activity while you’re there! The bus tour is amazing as you pass through skinny cavernous like areas, see right inside craters, take in views of desert dunes and endless landscapes of lava fields. As a little tip, I’d recommend sitting on the right side of the bus. This side offers better views on the whole, although you might see more of the craters from the left side. You’ll see geysers in Timanfaya National Park The island’s capital Arrecife is a bustling and busy town, with a Marina, a fabulous sandy beach and the famous Charco San Ginés, with dozens of places to eat and drink. There are several excellent hotels in the capital which are superb value for money.
