About this deal

I won't get into my history of amps that I've owned other than..I've probably owned more than an individual should now in pretty much every price range. Was looking for something more portable, fully analog without a thousand bells and whistles, nice and classic sounding, and something that will sound great at any volume and not make you accidentally blow the doors off your house by nudging the master volume. This amp fit the bill on all fronts. Digital Reverb - The reverb on the Orange RT is based on the classic spring reverb and is warm and natural. It works particularly well with the overdriven channel.

No matter which guitar singles, hums, or P90's, the only adjustment on my pedals is a fast and slight treble and bass adjustment. This little amp pushes some surprising volume, interacts very well pedals, provides inspiration, and playing enjoyment. Great article. I’ve recently gone through the process of finding an amp test suits my current needs. Same goes for buying that stadium filling 100w head in lieu of actually playing the stadiums. If you’re ever booked to play a stadium, we’d wager you’ll be flush enough to buy a new amp then for the occasion. Experience levels of detailed saturation and versatility never before heard in a practice amplifier. Building on the huge success of our Crush Pro series, our high gain preamp design puts a truly inspiring range of complex tones in the hands of the player. High quality, low noise components provide four stages of gain with exceptional richness and clarity. The result is amps that deliver everything from blissful cleans, to classic Bluesy Orange crunch all the way through to full-bodied, ultra high gain Metal distortion. Clean and Dirty channels can be switched on the amp’s top panel or remotely using the optional footswitch.

To top it all off, the Crush 35RT is complete with a fully buffered, ultra transparent effects loop to truly get the most from your pedal setup. With features like these and more than enough bite and attitude for the rehearsal space, this combo goes way beyond the call of a traditional practice amplifier. The headphone/line output includes our new CabSim feature, faithfully emulating the sound of a mic’d Orange 4×12″ cabinet loaded with our flagship Voice of the World speakers. Use headphones for silent practice or connect to a mixer/recording console to capture huge, authentic Orange tones in the studio. Reverb & Integrated Chromatic Tuner I was in the market for a small analogue AMP with NO bulit in Digital effects, it was also a must to have an FX loop, knowing very little about orange AMP's apart from only hearing good things from many people. There are certain mistakes which keep cropping up. Here we’ll outline five of the most common, in the hope that when it comes to choosing your next amp you’ll avoid making them and ending up with something you regret in six months. The Orange Crush 35RT is Orange’s biggest Crush guitar amp. It’s built-in tuner and reverb, 2 foot-switchable channels and effects loop make it an incredibly versatile and hugely usable 35-watt amp.

Cabinet Simulation - CabSim is a new feature from Orange that emulates a 4 x 12 cab on the headphone out. This is great for practicing and even better for recording that authentic Orange tone. Building on the huge success of their Crush Pro series, the high gain preamp delivers everything from blissful cleans, to classic Bluesy Orange crunch all the way through to full-bodied, ultra-high gain Metal distortion. Clean and Dirty channels can be switched on the amp's top panel or remotely using the optional footswitch. Nevertheless, I’m still positive that the advantages of that combo outweigh its disadvantages. Considering the fact that this is a really affordable amp, it’s definitely worth the money. That’s for sure! Orange Crush 35RT vs 20RTThis year I started jamming with a band again and discovered no matter what I hooked up for cabinets and no matter what tubes I put in, I didn’t have the clean headroom I wanted at jam levels. (The crunch was amazing though). The Crush 35RT has a buffered effects loop which allows many effects and cables to be patched between the amp’s inputs and outputs while still getting the classic Orange tone. The RT range amps have a built-in digital reverb module with classic ‘spring’ reverb sounds, giving you ambient tones and shimmering sounds, while the integrated tuner means you don’t need to carry extra equipment or spend a long time tuning up. The drive channel sounds good up to a certain point, but then it kind of turns to mush (at about 8 3/4 and higher). I didn't really expect to get great high-gain sounds from it though, so this wasn't a disappointment. Lower gain bluesy type stuff sounds great though. I haven't used it with pedals yet so I can't comment on how it takes them. For the best experience, partner with the Orange FS1 Footswitch (sold separately) for added functionality and control.

Orange's trademark CabSim feature opens up a whole new world of headphone / recording options for your sound, allowing you to accurately emulate the sound of a mic'd Orange 4x12 cabinet loaded with Voice of The World Speakers and making any recording sound as authentically "Orange" as is possible without having to make use of the much bigger and more cumbersome alternatives. For a secondary, practice setup in my home office. I was duped by the positive grid marketing a couple of years ago, which I got for when I dont have access to my better stuff at home—and wanted an actual amp to replace that muffled, app-dependent, DSP trash. At this point, a british style gain along with some cleans is what I do, so decided to try solid state (analog) expecting I could get god gain at lower volumes along with lots of clean headroom also. One reviewer commented on the Aux in, stating that it was quite bassy. Someone also mentioned that the dirty channel can sound a bit fuzzy. A few users haven’t been pleased with the overall sound but these are few and far between. Obviously the 35RT isn’t going to compete with the high end tube amps out there, but it isn’t really trying to capture that market. Bear in mind that most owners of this amplifier have been blown away by the quality of sound produced. I'm a tube amp guy. Ive owned and played Marshalls, Fender , Laney, Ampeg, Etc. I currently own a PTP Bandmaster head that I built myself. I bought one of these for rehearsals for the bands I belong to. the Folsom Prison Gang Johnny Cash Tribute and the Flying Saucers Oldies Band.If you’re after a tone filled amplifier that can hold its own in both practice or gigging conditions, the 35RT from Orange is definitely worthy of serious consideration. I bought this amp on a whim after my old Peavy died on me and was blown away by how great the sound was. My old Peavy never even came close to what this thing sounds like! The clean channel was bight and crisp and the dirty channel has some awesome bite to it but not the type of bite that will make your ears bleed. It's more like a mellow tube distortion that just feels right. Another reviewer said it was the tubyest solid state amp you'll ever hear. He hit it right on the money! Our own custom designed speakers deliver the perfect balance between modern low end punch and vintage highs, maintaining clarity even when pushed. Classic Orange Styling
