If you’re trying to charge your Razer ManO’War headphone set but it won’t seem to charge, there is no need to panic straight away. Here are a few reasons for this issue, and more importantly here are some solutions for them as well. How to Fix Razer ManO’War Not Charging? While real surround sound is ideal for the most part, we still think that the Man O’ War’s implementation is still decent, much like the emulators found on other headsets. For the best overall sound, we still mostly use the stereo option to avoid losses in quality. You can, however, select which programs run in 2.0 or virtual 7.1 via Razer Synapse. You can even have two programs running in different implementations at the same time. The level of control Razer provides for the Man O’ War is another fantastic selling point. The HyperX Cloud Revolver, for example, uses a ton of padding around the headband as well as a suspension system that makes it more comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Audio quality seems slightly better than the HyperX Cloud Revolver, though both headsets provide great audio. Razer also provides an equalizer in their Synapse software that makes it very easy to tune the sound profile to your liking, and with some minor tweaks you can make this headset sound even better than its 'flat' profile out of the box. The battery life of the headset is rated for up to 14 hours, though this can be extended to 20 by disabling the RGB lighting. The obvious flaw with RGB lighting in a headset is that you can’t see it once you put it on, therefore I’d recommend disabling this. In the real world, the headset lasted over two weeks on a single charge, with about one hour of use per day and the RGB lighting enabled. Should I buy the Razer Man O’War? You can tweak each of the three sounds to your liking with distinct increments in improvement, and by doing so, the Man O’ War will sound like a true-blue premium headset. You can tweak settings via the Razer Synapse, which also has a Bass Boost function, or you can create your mix of profiles via other programs with EQ capabilities. Sounds moving from the sides to the front are excellent, and although rear audio channels still feel like they are above my head rather than behind at times, overall I was impressed with the headset in this regard. Move to the top section of the headset, you’ll find “Razer” etched on the top, with the underside of the headband coated with a faux-leather material stuffed with foam. The Man O’War is also adjustable thanks to the extendable headband. It’s not as adjustable as the Turtle Beach Elite Pro, nor is it as innovative as the system used in the HyperX Cloud Revolver – but it works well.

You can use the ManO'War with a Mac, PC, or PlayStation 4, but not a Microsoft Xbox. In all three cases, you just need to plug the receiver into a free USB port and the headset will show up as a connected audio device. After connecting the receiver to a computer, you can then install Razer Synapse to access a variety of customization options, including the aforementioned lighting settings. You need to use the wireless receiver; there's no analog, wired connection option for the headset, like you get with the G933 or the Astro A50 . The padding on the ManO'War consists of a small amount of foam on the headband, and a massive amount of foam around the earcups, each covered with leather-like material. The ManO'War is reasonably comfortable, but I'd like to see a lot more padding around the headband to give it more comfortable support.

The audio feels roomy overall, making this headset ideal for titles with big environments like Battlefield 1 since positional audio does provide an advantage especially in close-quarters combat. Meanwhile, the quality of the Man O’ War’s 7.1 surround emulation, is subjective or questionable in our book.There’s a series of buttons on the Man O’War, with each earcup housing a volume wheel – one for microphone volume and the other for audio volume. To touch on specifics, the Man O’ War is a moderately bright headset in its default state. There’s not much of a bass punch to it, especially when listening to music. Instead, you get crystal-clear mids and crisp highs—similar to the approach taken by Corsair with both the H2100 and Void Wireless. But there are two aspects of the Man O’ War that elevate it in my esteem. Generally speaking, the audio quality aboard the Man O’War is very good. The experience begins with the wireless connection, which is very easy to set up. Razer supplies a thumbnail-sized USB dongle that provides up to 12m of wireless range, as well as a 2m extension cable – useful if you have your device out of direct line of sight.
