Please ensure that you send in enough clothes for your child’s stay. If your child needs pads please send in enough for their stay. It helps to label your child’s clothes; this should prevent anything getting lost. At Sunflower House we will wash your child’s clothes daily but if you’d prefer that we didn’t wash them then please let us know. The new Sunflower House will be amazing and will really help so many young people and their families. It is really needed and it’s great that it is next to the main Hospital.”

Form Follows Nature - the Sunflower House is located in Le Marche, Italy, known for its rolling farmland and yellow fields of sunflowers. It is a fast-growing crop that thrives in the sunshine, the Italian name girasole, literally meaning “turn to the sun”. Our new Mental Health Hub is a truly transformational project, bringing together inpatient and outpatient support on the Alder Hey healthcare campus for the first time. This sends a clear message that the experiences of children and young people who are living with mental health conditions are important and they are valued. This we are sure will help to remove stigma and create a new gold standard for mental health care nationally.Sunflower House provides short breaks for children with physical disabilities and complex health needs. The Trust conducts a system of performance and development planning as a key part of its annual business planning cycle. This ensures that all staff have an opportunity to take part in a discussion on the work they have done and explore how they can improve and develop in their jobs and formulating a set of personal objectives. This process includes a review of the job description on an annual basis. Water yourseeds every day and keep the soil moist, especially when the seedlings are small and growing.The seedsshould start to sprout in about a week, if the weather is warm. If you wish, fertilize the flower as they grow: you can use a blend of liquid kelp and fishemulsion. Our therapy garden is situated at the heart of Sunflower House in a central courtyard space and will provide children with access to outdoor space throughout their treatment journeys. This is extremely important as children can spend many months in our care. This new garden space is multi-use and has been designed to support children to play, relax, learn and even lead on their own gardening projects. Remember, the purpose of this unique DIY fort is gardening with kids, so be sure to get your childreninvolved in the seed planting. Most of the smaller sunflower seeds welet the kids toss in and sow independently with their children's gardening tools.
