About this deal

In the UK, a chocolate-orange Daim was sold recently, and this product was then sold in Ireland as well. There are many countries that import Daim Bars to sell, but they might not be able to access all the various flavors. Some of the limited edition options are only sold in one market.

Many people say that Hershey imitated the Daim Bar when it made its Skor Bar. This is another very similar product that can easily be interchanged with the Daim Bar, but that is not sold in all the same markets. The difference between Daim Bars and other candies is that Daim Bars are crunchier and more caramel-flavored than the other bars. Variations of the Daim BarMarabou Daim is a mix of two of our biggest favorites. With crushed Daim ( Swedish chocolate bar made from crunchy almond caramel covered in milk chocolate) in the chocolate, it becomes completely irresistible. With a minimum of 30% cocoa, this chocolate is sweet but mild. The dairy flavours shine forth, with some caramel undertones throughout; the fusion of which creates a creamy taste sensation. A famous 1995 television commercial (directed by John Lloyd) [4] for the chocolate bar in the United Kingdom featured the comedian Harry Enfield, in which a salesman describes the Daim bar as "smooth on the outside, crunchy on the inside", while a customer says he prefers armadillos, which are "smooth on the inside, crunchy on the outside." [5] [6] [7] Another successful commercial campaign was launched in 1996, and featured a spoof of Raiders of the Lost Ark. An unnamed adventurer uses a Daim bar to avoid triggering a death trap in an ancient temple, only to then return for the chocolate bar and take his chances with the crumbling structure. [8] In 2005, the spelling in the UK and Ireland was changed to "Daim", in line with the rest of the world. [9]

A Daim bar ( / ˈ d aɪ m/ DYME [1]) is a Swedish chocolate bar made from crunchy almond caramel covered in milk chocolate. At the end of the 1960s, the symbol of Marabou was changed from a stork to the rounded “M” in the company logo. It was designed by Sigvard Bernadotte. [3] This also marked the beginning of the first commercials starring Yvonne Lombard who created the slogan "Mmm... Marabou!". [3] Marabou chocolate is widely available in Sweden in assorted varieties.

In 1916, the brand Marabou was created in Sweden; [3] as the name Freja was already taken in Sweden, the company decided to name their Swedish branch after the stork in the logo. [4] However, the actual production didn't start until 1919 due to shortages in cocoa supply caused by World War I. History [ edit ] Marabou Daim-chocolate with "M"-logo. Chocolate with the old Marabou logo used in 1919–1960s, [1] which is still used in Freia This is a Swedish/Norwegian candy bar. It is chocolate and has a caramel center that is lightly crunchy and includes almonds. The bar was created by a company called Marabou in Sweden. The product was released in 1950. This was always intended to be a product made to compete with the Heath Bar, which was very popular at the same time. Crunchy candy bars were new and interesting at the time that the Daim Bar was made. The original Vice President of Marabou even inquired about licensing the Heath Bar for his own use in Sweden. The Heath Company refused to allow this, but they did share a list of the ingredients that they used in their Heath Bar product.
