These guidelines are designed to help you ensure that your child is playing safely with the PlayTRAY, and that the contents of the tray are age-appropriate and suitable for your child. By following these guidelines, you can help ensure that your child is having fun while staying safe. The PlayTRAY is tested & certified for use from birth. It is designed to be used by children of all ages, with the shallow tray being ideal to start using with younger ones before graduating to the deeper tray. As always, we ask that you please consider the age-appropriateness of the activities you set up in the PlayTRAY and supervise play at all times. These are often messy activities so the PlayTRAY was created to keep the mess contained and even comes with a lid so that the fun can be continued the next day! This is great as sensory activities can sometimes take a long time to set up and tidy away - being able to reuse the tray without the resources being spoiled is a bonus. The PlayTRAY also has six removable compartments that fit into the tray to store or can be taken out and used to enhance play. What can I do if my child doesn’t like messy play? We haven’t tried this play tray yet, although it is on my list for the next week or so – when I remember to add the bits to my shopping list!! Margot is at the stage where everything goes in her mouth – as you might have noticed from the above photos! It doesn’t matter what it is, she taste tests it. Whilst I don’t want her to think it’s ok to put everything in her mouth, I don’t want her to miss out on aspects of messy play, so edible alternatives it is for now – when she’s older and can understand ‘No’ better, we’ll face the taste testing everything! The inside surface of both trays and the compartments have a gloss finish, enabling them to be used with most dry-wipe pens (please test first). The PlayTRAY is freezer safe. I didn’t get as involved with this one, as I wanted to see how she played and what fruit she went for first – lemon, obviously! The fruit kept sinking, which I could see was confusing her, as her toys were floating…really interesting to watch!
