About this deal

It took a lot of rubbing with wet cotton wool pads to get rid of the colour. The only thing that saved me was a lot of brushing and generous spray of Philip Kingsley’s One More Day dry shampoo – an absolute life saver!

My second niggle – apart from the mess of dabbing it on my hair, was that it turned my scalp bright yellow. The powder clung to my roots (which to be fair, that’s what it was designed to do), but then ventured onto my scalp and wouldn’t budge. The magical technology, Matte Veil, ensures the pigment particles temporarily bind to each strand of hair. The technology works by harnessing the moisturisers in the formula to surface coat each of the powder particles so that, on application, they instantly adhere to the hair and when they are dispensed through the genius brush applicator, the pigments produce a thinly coated layer of colour. Whether you’ve got some nuisance greys coming through that you’re not ready to embrace, or your natural colour has decided it’s time to shine loud and proud atop your head, root touch-up powders are on hand to mask that root regrowth, seamlessly blend your roots in, and give the illusion of well-maintained tresses while you wait for your next appointment.helps protect the scalp and absorb moisture and Dimenthicone to help condition the hair so it feels soft and silky. And how should you best apply it? We’ve found some of the best root touch-up powders for all hair colours, many of which have been tried, adored, and used time again by celebrities and their stylists.

When I first saw these root concealing powders, what, a few years ago, I was sceptical. I couldn’t try them either, as my hair was scarlet red, and they tended to just come in more natural shades.Wear a towel around shoulders to protect clothing. Section desired area and apply powder directly, steadily building and blending the colour to create even coverage. We’ve all been there. Busy schedules, stints of isolation, that wait until payday, or honestly, just life, can get in the way of keeping on top of your hair colour. Making that salon appointment or buying that box dye can easily slip slightly further down the to-do list and before you know it, those inescapable roots start creeping through. Charles Worthington had root concealers before, selling at the rate of one a minute, and now this new formula with brush is sure to sell the same way. For best results apply to dry, styled hair and set with hairspray. To prime, ( gently) tap the brush head firmly on a hard surface until powder begins to release. My top tip would be to tap the brush head firmly on a hard surface until the powder begins to release and then start to gradually build up the colour until you’re happy with the coverage. It’s so simple but so clever.”

It’s easy to use, ( nope) just take the top off the case and dab the brush onto the roots, it will start to build up a colour and then just looks quite normal. (uh uh)I’ve used the dark blonde shade here, and it matched my hair really well. I’d say, if you have a big night out just before your next salon appointment, then give these a go. I think because my natural hair has a lot of grey in it now, the powder colour did grasp better. Other key ingredients include Iron Oxides, triple milled to produce a micro fine powder to aid spreading and even colour coverage; Corn Starch which You can also use it to cover the odd grey in your hair. This new powder comes in four shades – Light Blonde, Dark Blonde, Brown and Dark Brown. But how do they work?
