The nylon guides are integral to the pipe bender helping to ensure they don’t get lost or damaged in a toolbag. Codes for these spare guides are 1216N 15mm Spare Nylon Guide and 1223J 22mm Spare Nylon Guide. A. Over the years been a few reasons, main reason I find or is poor quality copper! What’s Next?

Place the Lever Arm over the positioned pipe and place the Lever Hook onto the Pivot Pins, ensure the Nylon Guide is seated. Rubber feet are available code 2607F which fit the 1215K, 1315XVE, 1315Longarm, 1222G, 1322Extended. Two rubber feet are included in the 22mm versions. The rubber feet also fit the Monument 15mm/22mm combi bender 2600K. There are some benders specifically suited to smaller pipe (8mm/10mm for instance), and we’ll cover those later. The image to the right shows that the pipe has been flattened by just under 0.4mm – the basic reason for this is that the formers are not quite correct for 4mm pipe or that there is a tendency for the two sides of the former to move apart during the forming process. I suspect that this is actually due to a combination of these: poor fit and forms coming apart. They weigh under 500g, and that’s pretty-lightweight, but they certainly provide more than enough power to get the job done.

If you’re working with microbore, unfortunately, there isn’t a set from Hilmore currently available in the UK.throating occurs on testing with the XV, XVE (XVL) XXII, XXIIE as well as Monument 2600K and a Hilmor® GLM A. Cheap thin wall copper doesn’t help the issue, there was a batch a few years ago that was actually snapping. Damaged formers or the guide on bender itself can also do it. Or guides, formers that are not clean (Answered by PG Plumbing on 26 Jan 2021) So, why do we use the Hilmore GLM tube benders, when there’s quite obviously others around the same price, and even more on offer for much less. Copper isn’t cheap so that’s money right there, going to waste. More importantly, it’s wasting time.

The Monument Masters 1215K-XV, 1315-XVE, 1315Longarm-XVL , 1222G-XXII and 1322Extended-XXIIE create similar bend radiuses to a Monument 2600K combi bender; in fact the 1222G has a slightly tighter radius that the 2600K combi bender, as this radius is tighter it creates a slightly different profile on the outside of the bend when compared to a combi.
