About this deal

It’s substantially larger than the Baton 3 Pro Max I reviewed recently, both in diameter and length. I’m very pleased to now see USB-C charging support, but I would have preferred it on the torch or battery itself. And I think for the price Olight could have included a magnetic charging cable as well – it’s still one of the most convenient methods of charging a torch I’ve tried. As can be seen from the above, Baton 3 Pro is superior to Baton 3 and S2R Baton II in lighting brightness, beam range and running time, and the original price difference between the three products is not much (now during O-Fan Day, the price of Baton 3 is reduced by 30%). Taken together, it is clear that the Baton 3 Pro is more cost-effective. The included Olight 18650 3200 mAh tailored lithium-ion battery is specially designed and only this battery and the 3500 mAh equivalent can be charged within the torch. The battery is recharged inside the torch using the included MCC3 magnetic charging cable for faster charging than before. Simply connect the magnet to the base of the torch and plug the USB end into a suitable USB adaptor (5 V 2 A recommended for fastest charging). I measured the colour temperature of my Cool White torch in turbo mode with my colour spectrometer. It came in at a pretty cool 6673K with a very impressive, almost perfectly neutral tint of just -0.0001 Duv. At lower outputs the temperature of the LED was a little warmer but with a slightly green tint.

The charging base is the common Olight MCC, which can charge at 1A, 1.5A, or 2A. As I said above, this cell canbe charged in a regular bay charger too! In this version of the Olight Baton 3 Pro flashlight is probably a Luminus SST-40 emitter, just like we saw on the S2R Baton II. But Olight doesn’t say. Either way, that emitter is coupled with a TIR and provides a very pleasantbeam profile.I say “doesn’t necessarily” seem to shut off but it’s very warning-ey. The light steps down to such a low output that you can’t not notice. If the light is unattended, this could be a problem, but if you’re using the light, you’ll certainly notice the low voltage. Charging For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms.In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. I wrote more about this Ultrafire WF-602C flashlight and explained a little about PWM too. User Interface and Operation As you can see, although the Baton Pro is 500 lumens brighter than the Baton 3 Pro, its throw distance is 43m lower than the Baton 3 Pro, and it is more expensive. In this version of the Olight Baton 3 Pro flashlight is probably a Luminus SST-40-W emitter, just like we saw on the S2R Baton II. But Olight doesn’t say. Either way, that emitter is coupled with a TIR and provides a very pleasantbeam profile.

Like all Olight torches I’ve tested, it feels well made and comes with an IPX8 waterproof rating and is 1.5m drop resistant. It’s constructed almost entirely of aluminium, with a comfortable rubber grip that wraps around the body of the torch. The arms of this clip are much larger than on previous generations, too. This provides a much firmer attachment! In fact, it’s very firm. While the Baton 3 Pro doesn’t seem to necessarily shut off with low voltage protection, the switch does give an indication that the cell voltage is low. The Olight Baton 3 Pro Silver Ridge is now available! It’s a rechargeable flashlight using an 18650 cell and offers high output and a familiar user interface. Here’s really the main issue with this emitter. It’s green. This is more noticeable on the low modes. In the highest couple of levels, it’s more or less ok, but the positive Duv on the lower modes is not something I look for in an emitter.

What is it

The rest of the light is fairly standard. Batons are great! I’m a massive fan of Batons. The Silver Ridge finish is quite neat and you might know I’m a huge fan of the Topo-style lines. Long Review The Big Table Olight Baton 3 Pro Silver Ridge Flashlight
