About this deal

It re-opened again in 1978 as the New Electric Circus but its rebirth was short lived and the building was demolished by 1980 and replaced by housing. a b Stern, Robert A. Flame throwing jugglers and trapeze artists performed between musical sets, strobe lights flashed over a huge dance floor, and multiple projectors flashed images and footage from home movies. Seating was varied, with sofas provided. The Electric Circus became "New York's ultimate mixed-media pleasure dome, and its hallucinogenic light baths enthralled every sector of New York society." [3] Its hedonistic atmosphere also influenced the later rise of disco culture and discotheques.

Tessa Fontaine’s astonishing memoir of pushing past fear, The Electric Woman, follows the author on a life-affirming journey of loss and self-discovery—through her time on the road with the last traveling American sideshow and her relationship with an adventurous, spirited mother. Out the window, the seagulls were all facing the same direction. Seven seagulls, evenly spaced, their faces pointed the same way. I stood up and looked where they were looking. A parking lot, scattered trees, a road. I didn’t believe in omens.

Turns out, one lesson applies to living through illness, keeping the show on the road, letting go of the person you love most, and eating fire: a b Prato, Greg. "W.A.S.P.- Inside the Electric Circus review". AllMusic. All Media Network . Retrieved October 17, 2019.

As nothing came of Frankie mk1 I’d hazard a guess that Ambrose sent the recordings (or some of his own maybe?) to John and used the name? Holly released at least one solo single between Frankie mk1 and 2 so there was a gap, it’s a pity I didn’t see if there was a date on the letter. Looking up Reynolds on Wikipedia shows that he was pretty active on the music scene around Liverpool, later teaming up with ex-Big In Japan vocalist Jayne Casey to form Pink Industry and starting Zulu Records together, but one paragraph stood out: Despite its relatively short life, the Electric Circus will be forever be remembered as an influential venue in Manchester's history and the true heart of its punk scene. The big room was completely decorated with fabric amorphously draped on walls and spanning corners and cornices. Projectors behind the fabric ran continuous short loops of films. Of course it was dimly lit so as not to wash out the films. People were everywhere and moved mysteriously in the smoky dim light. I was born in Brooklyn and had already lived a few years in Manhattan, but I never saw anything like this before. The next time I saw EC the decor had changed. I never paid to get in because I was a member of the PABLO Light** show.”— Anonymous A: There is no official statement as to why Oprah did not choose The Electric Circus for her book club. However, it is important to note that Oprah does not choose every book that is released and she may have had other books that she was interested in promoting at the time. They climb onto the board belly-first, she below, the surfer on top of her, two sets of arms paddling in tandem. They must move with one another like oars along a canoe. Over the break, farther out to the point where the waves begin swelling enough to catch.

While Debra Madden said: "We would go there early just as the doors opened so would often see people pre-gig." Adding: "As a 15 -16 year old it was daunting walking up the seedy street and staircase into the hall. So exciting though, and brilliant to have been growing up in Manchester and hanging out at the Underground Market, Belle Vue and many gig venues."
