About this deal

This is by no means a cheap kit. It’s one of the most expensive drum kits you’ll find on the market, but it’s also one of the best 7 piece drum sets you can get.

The resonant head has snare wires suspended under it to produce the classic snare ‘buzz’ sound – the mechanism used to attach the snare wires to the drum is called the snare strainer. The snare strainer mechanism normally also includes a ‘throw off’ to switch the snares on and off and an adjustment thumb-screw to adjust the tightness of the snare wires. The snare drum sits on a special snare drum stand consisting of legs and a 3 arm basket to hold the drum. 5. The Tom TomsSecondly, the hardware that is adorned on the drums will be more durable and robust. With high-quality components throughout there will be no cheap screws or threading, and this will help with tuning. These drums boast professional-level features including newly designed mini-turret lugs, True-Pitch tuning rods, concise bearing edges, a MAG snare drum throw-off, and more. The drums are also equipped with Remo drum heads on the batter and resonant heads. However, as you enter the professional-level drum set price point, you can expect to receive a considerably better quality drum set than a beginner or intermediate-level drum set, and the difference in sound is crystal clear! With this PDP drum set, I really appreciate the DW hardware touches, they do a great job in making it feel luxurious.

The drums are made from 7-ply maple shells. These shells have the classic Gretsch tone that sounds vintage, yet modern enough to fit in any band. You get a musical range of notes as you play down the toms.Delivering even high and mid frequencies and a full low-end response, the maple sound is ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

I love the sound of this kit, and I’m a big fan of how these shells sound with the more rounded 30-degree bearing edges. It provides a warmer yet punchy and full tone. I was most interested in the 23” bass drum. While it’s a unique size, it sounded full and very punchy. It’s a premium-priced drum set, but if you’re looking to own one of the best professional kits available, the Star is seriously worth considering. Some drummers love the small kits while others love the large and extravagant ones. If you’re part of the latter group of drummers, this article is for you! The build quality is also excellent. Yamaha uses the same high-quality hardware (including YESS tom mounts) for the Stage Custom as they use for their top-of-the-range drum sets. The overall craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding considering the affordability of these drums.

I always think that the sound of the Yamaha Stage Custom far exceeds its price point. These drums are just so bright, musical, and responsive.

I’ve seen so many of these being used as house kits in venues, and it’s mostly due to how affordable this set is combined with how good the drums sound. A crash / ride is sometimes considered as a cheaper alternative to separate crash and ride cymbals but that’s not necessarily the case so don’t dismiss them! There are some great crash / rides out there that make both a very good ride cymbal and a very good crash cymbal – and of course you only have to carry around one cymbal! Very handy for jazz use. China Cymbal Most 7-piece drum sets will utilize a lot more cymbals than a traditional 5-piece drum kit, so you might want to think about buying extra cymbals, such as several crash cymbals, as well as effects cymbals such as splash cymbals and china cymbals. One of 3 exotic finishes available, this Tama Superstar Classic drum kit features a beautiful Garnet Burst Lacebark Pine finish.
