About this deal

Cores +– Handles pretty much everything you can throw at it. Very good for rendering, multi-tasking, and other CPU-intensive processes as well as gaming.

On the outside, the laptop has a 16-inch display, which should give you a bit more room than a standard 15.6-inch display. Further, much like some of the best 16-inch laptops, this one, too, has a QHD display, which should deliver sharper visuals than a 1080p display. Further, you get a 165Hz refresh rate, which should eliminate screen-tearing while playing fast-paced games or videos. In Adobe Premiere Pro, the Core i7-12700H is the fastest CPU that we've tested to date. The overall score puts both the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti configurations above the Apple M1 Pro, and well above previous generation processors. In particular, it dominates Ryzen and while the GPU is also faster than previous configurations, it's still a very impressive result. It's a slam dunk win for Intel in the single-threaded workload. The P-cores running at up to 4.7 GHz crush Cinebench R23, beating everything in the field by a significant margin: 22% faster than the 11800H, 26% faster than the 5800H, 20% faster than the 5900HX and a very solid 18% faster than Apple's M1 Pro. With 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, standard, built-in features enable capabilities like noise suppression, auto-framing, and optimization for bandwidth and video resolution while gaming 3. That saves you time and lets you multitask in ways you’ve only ever dreamed of—until now.To reiterate, the Intel Core i7-12700K is functionally identical to the Intel Core i7-12700KF other than it comes with its own integrated graphics (iGPU) which can be used in place of a dedicated graphics card for slightly more money. As mentioned in our ‘Things to consider’ section, your average gamer won’t need to use this iGPU, relying entirely on the separate dedicated graphics card, however, in certain scenarios, it can be useful to have one. With DDR4 memory you ideally want to use gear 1 as you'd need to run the memory up around DDR5 speeds to offset the increased latency. With DDR4-2400, we're looking at a 40% increase in latency when switching from gear 1 to gear 2, and this is going to crippled performance in memory sensitive tasks, such as gaming.

The 12900K boasts a substantial 30MB L3 cache, 14MB L2 cache, and 1.4MB L1 cache. How this affects gaming and workstation tasks is uncertain, especially how the OS’s kernel scheduler manages the “big” and “little” cores in the 12th gen CPUs regarding cache allocation. This might lead to smoother multitasking and better workstation performance, not just heavy-duty gaming. The idea of this test is not to take a few premium kits and then manually adjust timings and frequencies, which is what we've done in the past. Instead we want to test memory kits you can actually buy and see how those perform and compare. We reached out to Corsair and submitted a long shopping list of kits that we wanted to test and they were gracious enough to help us out. Moving to 1440p further reduces the already small margins and now anything above DDR4-3200 is basically providing the same level of performance. Core i9 – The i9 processors are meant to be the most powerful ones here, compared to the i3, i5, and i7. The i9 processors, like the i9-12900H, have a max speed of up to 5.0GHz, which makes it a faster CPU than i7. For testing the i7-12700H we've run two power configurations: a long-term PL1 power limit of 45W, Intel's default spec for these chips, as well as 75W, which is a common boosted power level seen across many laptop vendors.

OpenCL* Support

Core i5 – These CPUs are slightly more powerful than the i3 ones. They have higher average speeds and more cores. For instance, the 12th gen i5 CPUs have 6 to 12 cores, which makes them capable of handling demanding tasks. Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics only: to use the Intel® Iris® Xe brand, the system must be populated with 128-bit (dual channel) memory. Otherwise, use the Intel® UHD brand. Part of that comes down to the export score. The full performance available with these new laptop configurations is 25% faster than a previous-gen configuration, comparing 12700H + 3070 Ti, to 11800H + 3070. Increasing the resolution to 1440p, where we're still pushing over 200 fps for the most part, the Core i9-12900K was pretty well maxed out using DDR4-2933. Of course, we do see a 7% increase in 1% lows from DDR4-2933 to DDR5-6200, but that's a negligible difference given the massive increase in bandwidth DDR5 offers. Which DDR4/DDR5 Memory Kit for Alder Lake?

June 8, 2018). "Core i7-8086K Limited Editionは50年のIntel史上最強のゲーミングCPU!? 40年前の8086プロセッサ搭載の初代PC-9801とのベンチ比較も! text by 鈴木雅暢". impress.co.jp. When compared to AMD processors like the 5900HX and 5800H, the 12700H is more efficient at low power levels to a small to moderate degree. But this margin grows substantially around 65W and 75W where Ryzen tapers off. So while the 12700H is faster at all power levels, it's especially good in the upper range where the biggest, beefiest laptops will be able to run. The final compute workload we'll look at is Agisoft Metashape's photogrammetry benchmark, where Alder Lake is again the chart topping configuration. Performance gains here aren't as strong as previous Adobe suite tests, but we're still seeing at least a 10 percent performance gain over the next best configuration tested which is a respectable result. Power Consumption For basic tasks like app loading, video conferencing and so on, the Core i7-12700H is a great option and it's able to outperform the Ryzen 9 5900HX, though only by a single digit margin. Most of today's laptops are fast enough for these sorts of workloads. Intel Turbo Boost Technology Frequency Table – 5th Generation Intel Core i7 Desktop Processors". Intel. March 18, 2016 . Retrieved April 21, 2016.Hitman 3's Dartmoor benchmark is very demanding on the CPU and the 12700H here has a clear lead on other processors, again up around the 25% mark compared to the best Ryzen result and even higher on past Intel models.
