About this deal

Inside the speaker, the left and right audio signals are usually summed (added together) to produce a mono audio signal. For this reason, do not apply a balanced signal to these inputs (for example, left = signal+, right=signal-). This will result in no audio. The Minirig 3 and the Minirig Mini is a fully digital DSP so the bass enhancement changes smoothly and dynamically. The MiniRig 3 is a portable, rechargeable speaker intended for life on the move. If you take your music with you to bars and booths around your city, then this device will ensure you never have to compromise on volume or sound quality. Usually, when you see something as small as this compact device, it’s easy to assume that you’re going to miss out on functionality, sound stage, or volume. To reduce the effects, use the Minirig in LOW gain. Also, plugging an aux lead into one of the outputs when in Bluetooth mode will simulate a subwoofer and "fix" the eq.

Not only do you get a sensational 100-hour battery life from this product, but you can also expect a range of bonus features, including a 5-band equalizer, sensational syncing and linking functions, and 40 watts of power. However, at the louder levels, the low frequencies do begin to dwindle. MiniRig 3 Review: Pros and ConsAvailable for both Android and Apple devices, the app gives you a 5-band equalizer that you can experiment with. There’s also more control over your music through the app. I don't tend to cover Bluetooth speakers here at Audiophile On, but companies send a lot to our offices. By that, I mean a lot of very average or outright crappy Bluetooth speakers. I won't bother covering them most of the time as nothing about them really stands out. When we decide to write about one, it means that we think highly enough for us to recommend it to our readers. With our other products, Minirig wired, Minirig Bluetooth, Minirig 2 and the Minirig subwoofer there is no DSP and the EQ/limiter is entirely analog. This means there is no delay. While we intend to look at a full Minirigs 2.1 portable Hifi system later, this review will concentrate on a single Minirig Bluetooth speaker. We will take a look at its design and how it performed under our various tests and comparisons. Audiophile On doesn't usually cover Bluetooth Speakers. Inside the Minirigs app, you will also find support for a five-band EQ system that allows you to custom tweak the sound of your speaker. I was surprised just how well the speaker took the EQing because I have had some units struggle in this regard in the past. Link-Up Mode

At the top of the tube, you will find all the accessories and extras, and at the bottom, you will see the Minirig 3 inside its fitted carry case. You might notice audio occasionally cutting off from one unit if you have multiple devices connected. Keep in mind that there are also a host of additional peripherals that you can link to the MiniRig 3 from the same brand. Although there are slightly more attractive great speakers out there, you’ll struggle to find anything as simultaneously strong and compact as the MiniRig 3.Today, this device is much more powerful than the previous MiniRig, with a custom 70 mm driver that really delivers sensational power. There’s also the added bonus of the wireless linking function, so you can run multiple MiniRig speakers at the same time. The MiniRig 3 aren’t audiophile-grade speakers designed for the next level of music performance, but they do outperform a lot of other contenders in their price and weight range. There’s also an app for Android and iPhone that enables you to play and pause your media, pair up Minirigs, switch between stereo and mono modes and even turn them off remotely. It’s a great little addition to the whole setup. Consequently, the Minirig is loud (startlingly so). Though a smart limiter circuit automatically stops the Minirig from damaging itself. That said the real achievement is the audio quality.

This little device can deliver some sensational power, with 40w of RMS to ensure you fill a whole room in seconds. There is a lot of choice when it comes to portable speakers that can be used with Bluetooth for general listening, but as soon as you add in the need for latency-free wired line-in (for DJing), that choice drops.

Step Three

For this... hearing really is believing so believe us when we tell you that it sounds loud and amazing! However, the provided cable does allow you to use the Minirig’s battery to charge your mobile devices. There’s enough juice onboard to fully charge an iPhone 6 Plus once or an iPhone 4S twice. There is an app for Android and iPhone, that aims to make some of the rather convoluted set-up procedures for multiple speakers easier, and also gives you EQ and control over things like LED behaviour and auto standby, as well as proper media controls of the type that are missing on the unit itself. The mining 3 is very similar to the previous product in its design. Throughout the years, this is a brand that’s stayed true to a constant focus on quality in design. The Minirig Mini is an amazing sounding speaker for its size. Sound is balanced and there’s even a bit of bass to be had, which isn’t always the case with small speakers. While the bass response is good, mids are where the Mini shine, allowing vocal and acoustic music to sound natural. You even get a sense of an instrument’s texture.
