About this deal

We do provide installation options for built-in appliances providing it is simply a case of fitting the appliance and furniture doors. Any additional work to the kitchen units or carpentry work required will need to be completed at the customer’s expense. At Peter Tyson we pride ourselves on prompt, efficient delivery. Please note that the daily cut off time for all next day delivery services is 3pm. AB31, AB32, AB33, AB34, AB35, AB36, AB37, AB38, AB41, AB42, AB43, AB44, AB45, AB46, AB47, AB48, AB49, AB50, AB51, AB52, AB53, AB54, AB55, AB56 In the vast majority of cases we will not be able to install the cabinet doors to built-in laundry products as the fittings very rarely match up. We will try our best however if we are unable to do this we will still install connect to plumbing and put the appliance in situ. One final note on steaming lossless files, we are getting into the nitty gritty at this point. There is still some minor compression that happens in transferring the file via Bluetooth. Honestly, it is so minor that I’m not even sure you would notice unless your pouring tens of thousands of dollars into your hardwired system to prove me wrong. In which case, I concede, you win.

The Bluesound Edge is a ‘just add speakers’, streaming amplifier that features just about everything you can think of, from Tidal and Spotify Connect to Roon ready and AirPlay2. With built-in MQA it is ready for all Hi-Res streaming options up to 192kHz and 24-bit depth. The Edge has a Quad-Core 1.8GHz ARM® Cortex™ A53 processor and a 32-bit/384khz premium DAC (cut and pasted)! It is all feeling very cutting edge, or rather cutting Edge!CA1, CA2, CA3, CA4, CA5, CA6, CA7, CA8, CA9, CA10, CA11, CA12, CA13, CA14, CA15, CA16, CA17, CA18, CA19, CA20, CA21, CA22, CA23, CA24, CA25, CA26, CA27, CA28. You can think of the POWERNODE EDGE as the little brother to the Bluesound POWERNODE. The EDGE offers 40 Watts of output power from the company’s DirectDigital amplification technology as compared to the POWERNODE’s 80 Watts of HybridDigital power. The basic difference being DirectDigital amplifies a digital PCM signal, while HybridDigital amplifies an analog input using switching modulation. I rebooted the Powernode Edge, restarted my phone, paired the C500s to my phone and unpaired and then paired again—still no connection. And when the C500s finally did show in the list of found devices, I still couldn’t get the app to stream to them. It took some 90 minutes before connection was somehow established. This was the only glitch I encountered with the Powernode Edge. The Canadian manufacturer Bluesound unveiled the "HUB", which can stream signals from analog as well as digital sources into your home network via BluOS. The Powernode Edge connects to your home network automatically when an ethernet cable is plugged into its LAN port. Connecting wirelessly is easily done through the BluOS Controller app. A few moments after the unit is powered up, it becomes ready for network connection in hotspot mode; a flashing green LED turns solid to indicate this status. Once ready, you launch the Add A Player wizard in the BluOS Controller app, which searches for and lists available players, and select the Powernode Edge. (This wizard is also used to connect the Pulse Sub+ subwoofer.) Next, you connect the Powernode Edge to your Wi-Fi network: on iOS, the BluOS app discovers it automatically; on Android, you use a wizard to select and log in to your Wi-Fi network. The status indicator turns blue once connection is established. This process may sound involved, but it took me less than five minutes to complete.

At the rear of the unit, there is a small selection of connectors, including a pair of speaker terminals, an HDMI eARC port for a TV, a 3.5mm combo digital optical input, a USB-A port for connecting a storage drive, plus an output for a subwoofer output next to an Ethernet port. Most people will probably use the Edge’s built-in dual-band Wi-Fi to connect to a home network and stream music. And although the Edge doesn’t have endless connection possibilities, there are enough options for handling sources like a turntable or a CD player. Connect with the BluVoice skill to enable voice assistants like Alexa and Siri to control Players around the home. Easily connect wired sources, like a TV or turntable, with HDMI eARC or the combo analogue/digital input. Whether you’re streaming from a smartphone, have music stored on your laptop, use music streaming services or are a high-res audio aficionado, the Bluesound caters to all.The Bluesound Powernode Edge shares many of the characteristics of its bigger sibling (the Powernode) but with less power and a less powerful DAC chipset. The Powernode Edge did particularly well with vocals. In “The Musical Box,” from the Genesis album Nursery Cryme (16/44.1 MQA, Atlantic/Tidal), Peter Gabriel sings with real intimacy in the quieter opening minutes, his breath accenting the lyrics. When Gabriel and Phil Collins sang in harmony, I was right there with them. This module also supports AirPlay and two way Bluetooth (meaning it can send audio to wireless headphones too) and is combined with a small but useful set of extra connections. The combined 3.5mm optical and analogue input is retained but it’s the fitment of the HDMI ARC connection that gives the Edge… well an edge. It’s exactly the same fitment as the normal Node and Node X but where it only acts on their inbuilt level control and has no effect on the amp they are connected to, with the Edge, the effect is complete handover of volume control. There are very few other just add speakers style solutions that cost less than this with the same level of HDMI integration. For professional smart home installers, full-feature drivers are available for Lutron, Crestron, RTI, Elan, and other popular control systems. Specifications – Bluesound PowerNode Edge Supported Audio File Formats There is a lot of really good equipment out there in the HiFi world and Bluesound has contributed heavily to this streaming revolution. The BluOS streaming controller is still the best and most consistent platform out there, in my view. If you’re after a compact, sleek second system, an AV upgrade, a desktop solution, or even if you are starting out, this is a fine reliable flexible platform on which to begin a system journey.
