Hi Gaz, Yours is the first report I’ve heard of caffeine shampoo not slowing hair loss. Its possible that you need a stronger dose (eg Caffeine Liquid) or that there is another cause for your hair loss other than DHT switching off follicles (eg iron deficiency, underactive thyroid, alopecia). Have you sought advice from a trichologist? Best wishes, Sarah B Increasing blood flow to the scalp through gentle massage and ingredients like Gingko is another great way to promote hair growth and regrowth. I figured that Sebamed’s combination of ingredients would be gentler on my scalp and still give me the same benefits as Alpecin.

I try to use all-natural shampoos when I can. In my opinion, the ingredients in Alpecin are harsher on my scalp than Sebamed shampoo. The Plantur 39 Shampoo for fine, brittle hair has lower amounts of hair softening ingredients so that fine hair retains its volume. HI Jenny, yes it’s certainly worth a go. It is designed for women aged 40+ to help improve hair thinning associated with the hormone changes (lower oestrogen, higher relative testosterone0 that exists in perimenopause and post menopause. Let me know if it helps – you shoud lnotice a difference within 3 months. Best wishes, Sarah B My hair seems to be thinning a lot, I’m a 24yr old male. Could you recommend that this is the right product and how many times I should use it a week .. or perhaps it’s the wrong product to be using on my hair. These are the two products I’ve used for years with fantastic results. Since I’m a long-hair guy, I know better than most how to take care of my hair.

does plantur 39 etc have a dandruff shampoo as i am using head and shoulders does this interfere with the plantur 39 shampoo, does it make the plantur 39 shampoo less effective If caffeine shampoos alone have not provided the response you were looking for, then a premium combination shampoo that includes caffeine and saw palmetto extracts may provide better results. Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo contains caffeine plus zinc and vitamins A and B3 to stimulate hair growth. Thanks for all the information here. I have been seeing caffeine shampoos pop up for sale at my gym recently, and never really understood what the point was. Your post has been really helpul 🙂An Italian study involving 33 men with male-pattern hair loss (known medically as androgenetic alopecia) compared the effects of caffeine shampoo against a placebo shampoo in 2012. They concluded that caffeine shampoo was significantly more effective than placebo, with more than twice as many people randomised to use caffeine shampoo stating they were satisfied with the results (84.8%) compared with 36.4% using placebo. The Plantur 39 Conditioner for coloured and stressed hair contains avocado oil to smooth hair and help it feel softer and more supple. I’ve used caffeine shampoo for several years and follow the Alpecin directions for the best results. Unlike normal shampoo that you wash off after about 30 seconds, caffeine shampoo takes more time to penetrate hair roots. The original range, Plantur 39 (sometimes affectionately referred to as Panther 39 shampoo!) is designed for women over 40.

The active ingredient in Nizoral is Ketoconazole. This stuff works magic on an itchy red scalp. After several uses, my scalp returned to normal. If you know what that itch feels like, you know how good it feels to get rid of it! Hi, I have thinning hair mostly on my crown and it’s begging to upset me a lot. I tied using nioxin shampoo and conditioner 6 months ago but it’s simply not working. Is it worth my while to spend more money on products that ,any not work? Both shampoos contain similar amounts of caffeine plus Camellia sinensis (green tea leaf) extracts and vitamin B3.As well as supplying caffeine, the tonic contains soy isoflavones (genistein) plus vitamin B3 and zinc to boost hair growth.
