Their cooking lessons, reading Romance books together, saving puppies, giving each other what they needed... Lord have mercy, every time I thought it couldn’t get any better they proved me wrong over and over again. Their relationship flowed so beautifully and naturally and I loved every single second of their banter and every single moment that got them closer together. My heart was fluttering and felt so gooey with so many romantic gestures and moments when they were simply there for one another. Little moments that might’ve seemed simple but meant the world. I couldn’t put the book down, it was wholesome, romantic and holy hotness, all the steam coming out of my kindle. My friends, sexy times in this book are off the freaking charts (yep, handcuffs and a uniform may or may not be involved). A plot that was a mix of emotional, healing, suspenseful and gasp worthy at the same time that made this powerful story absolutely epic! A mediocre apology and we, like our main girl, just have to forget every single thing he said and move on. The twist that I found amazing was quite unrealistic. There was a lot in this book that wasn’t quite believable and I did have trouble reading it at my usual fast pace. Finn and Ellen are supposed to be in love but you can’t tell from him constantly leaving the house and barely spending time with her. Yes, this is part of the story, but it made me feel disconnected from the characters. There really wasn’t much depth to any of them. This took me a day to read and kept me reading mainly because I wanted to find out if the unlikeable main characters got their just deserts. I was intrigued by the first few chapters and surprised when the mystery was (partly) explained so soon. Unfortunately the plot-holes were too numerous for me.

Just finished this BRILLIANT book… Clever, addictive and twisty, I couldn’t sleep until I found out the truth… The twist floored me! Utterly compelling from beginning to end’ Claire Douglas Ten years later Finn is engaged to Layla’s sister, Ellen. Their shared grief over what happened to Layla drew them close and now they intend to remain together. Still, there’s something about Ellen that Finn has never fully understood. His heart wants to believe that she is the one for him…even though a sixth sense tells him not to trust her.

Now, I get it, okay? Depression is different for everyone, and I understand that the author had gone through something similar. Then, there is this “happy end” – I mean “a second chance in happiness” but as you may guess, it is a bitter-sweet one and I really really really had a hard time with the “timing of this second chance in happiness”... The heroine is a suicide survivor & she moves right next door to a broody cop. And by “next door” I mean she can see directly into his bedroom window 🥵 Review: I’m really excited to have another Kristen Granata book to read after almost a year! And in true Kristen writing, she gave us characters dealing with real life struggles and mental health issues that everyone can relate to. I love that she never shies away from the hard topics and always makes you stop and think about how you might have behaved in a similar situation. Another thing Kristen does well is give you a bunch of incredible supporting characters to love and root for, whether they get their own books or not. I'm not going to lie, this book definitely did destroy me and I wanted to bloody strangle her I cried ALOT through this and I thought the pain would never go away...
