About this deal

The biggest update to the Brooks Ghost 14 is the use of DNA Loft foam throughout the full length of the midsole.

I enjoyed it most on steady-paced runs, slightly faster than easy pace, between 4.50 and 5.30 minutes per kilometre. There is now more outsole rubber on the medial side of the midsole to give the Ghost 14 more medial support since the medial side of the midsole has been changed to a softer DNA Loft. Whenever the new version of a Ghost gets released, it’s never that exciting because you know that it will be very similar to the previous version. There are many reasons to buy the Ghost but excitement is not one of them. Caterpillar Crash Pad is a segmented crash pad that flexes with the foot, offering customized cushioning and stability for a smooth heel-to-toe transition. One thing to be aware of is that the midsole of the Ghost 14 is plain EVA so there isn’t much energy return with each footstrike. The midsole does provide a very well-padded ride with plenty of foot protection. If you have narrow feet, avoid the Ghost 13. Instead, you can consider the Brooks Levitate 4 which has a snugger fit.

After 80 kilometers in the Ghost 14, I’ve noticed that outsole durability is however below average compared to other daily trainers so if you’re particularly hard on outsoles, stay away from the Ghost. Experts who commented on weight are in sync when they say it’s heavy (10.1 oz). For reference, it’s also heavier than its competitors like the Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 (8.7 oz) and the Saucony Ride 13 (9.7 oz). Good grip on Ghost 13 They describe the midsole as “far more luxurious” than other mid-range daily runners and the upper as “very soft.” This version of the Ghost felt like it wanted me to go faster than easy pace whereas previous versions felt sluggish and cumbersome. I wear out Ghost 13 in about 4 months for walking 2.5/miles daily; wearing out 4 pairs (Size 8 Narrow) for sure.Reliable cushioning built for your daily running needs, the Brooks Ghost 10 continues to offer a fantastic training experience on the roads. There’s a popular saying that goes something like, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Omega Flex Grooves have been deepened to enhance midsole flexibility without compromising cushioning. Related: Brooks Glycerin 18 Review: The Glycerin 18 is a Runner Favorite For a Reason Who is the Brooks Ghost 13 Best For? When I put the Ghost 14 on my feet for the first time, it felt luxurious and slipper-like. The upper felt less puffy and more streamlined than the Ghost 13.

The majority of experts agree that the shoe highlights comfort above all. They find it “exceptionally comfortable” and a model that’s “all about comfort.” The thinner mesh also makes the forefoot feel more spacious but it fits true to size. It’s available in 4 different men’s widths and 3 women’s widths if you need them. The Ghost 14 gets brand new flat laces which replace the old oval laces. I find that the flat laces distribute pressure more evenly and they make the entire lacing area flatter and more performance oriented.I love the fit and shape of the Ghost. The toe box is perfectly roomy while the midfoot and heel offer a secure, dialed-in fit,” says one reviewer. “The extra eyelets add adjustability, and the shoe has an overall cozy feel.” The Glycerin used to be the only Brooks trainer with a full DNA Loft midsole but now that the Ghost 14 also has one, the Ghost represents much better value. Thank you for leaving your review and your experience here – I love it when we get more points of view than just our own! just curious what “suspicion” you have about the review! We did like the shoe, so much that we gave it a 8/10!
