About this deal

In Inside the Actor’s Studio, host James Lipton sits down with the world’s finest actors, writers, directors, and creators to discuss their unique process and get to the crux of who they are underneath their fame. Traditionally, each show concludes with Lipton asking his guests the ‘Pivot Questionnaire’, a list of 10 questions designed to reveal a person’s creative core. From the mind of horror master Garth Marenghi: a masterful multi-volume horror masterpiece thirty years in the making... Holness, now 47, grew up in Whitstable, happy and secure with his parents and brother. Nonetheless, horror seemed to be everywhere: he was spooked by bleak news bulletins and the kinds of public information films that warned children of electrocution by pylons and drowning in quarries, and he became fascinated by what Marenghi would call “the fantastique”. Imagine a world where every scary story told to you turned out to be true, This is the world of Terrordrome where these monsters effect the real world unknown to humans who live their regular day to day life. Darkplace was a first TV gig for a generation of British comedy talent. Richard Ayoade played Dean Learner, Marenghi’s unscrupulous and dandyish agent; Matt Berry played thespian Todd Rivers and Alice Lowe was Madeleine Wool, who sadly disappeared somewhere in Eastern Europe before the show’s rediscovery. Their friends Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt of The Mighty Boosh popped up, too.

Holness inhabits his alter-ego so completely, never once casting doubt on Margenghi’s belief that he’s a serious, heavyweight author, that he’s able to improvise answers to whatever the audience throw at him. That Marenghi is so aloof and self-important that he can shut down some of the more esoteric or bizarre inquiries with a taciturn ‘no’ helps – though it’s a device he uses a bit too liberally. Must Read Horror Articles 23 October 2023 Welcome to Must Read Horror, where we search the internet… TIH 533: Joe Sullivan on Cemetery Gates Media and Publishing In this podcast, Joe Sullivan talks about Cemetery Gates Media,… Beginning with an introduction by Marenghi himself, the book sets out its stall straight away. Those familiar with Darkplace will recognise the voice immediately. It’s irreverent, egotistic, and condescending. It’s also incredibly funny. It both captures the spirit of Darkplace and sets up the conceit of the three novellas, in a kind of meta way (more of that anon). Then we’re straight into the first story.Jumping into the month of August! This past month, we have been preparing for our next major update. We are also looking to release a small patch this week prior to the major update. Extra details below! Coding Memory Usage ImprovementsOne of the recent known issues with Reign of The Legends is an excessive amount of memory leakage and usage. This has been responsible for stuttering and poor performance on most machines. Our lead programmer Brad has been investigating the source of the memory leak, and he has found solutions to help reduce the amount of memory usage. There are... Because it’s dependent on audience input, this (overlong) section is inevitably a bit scrappy, especially after the comedy gold of the book reading. Though even here, Holness sometimes improvises the perfect answer. His suggestion for the woman who thought her cat possessed was brilliant: ‘Drop a sofa on it,’ he recommended. ‘If it stops mid-air, the cat is under a spell of protection.’ Matt Holness is – only slightly – ashamed of how out of the loop he is. He finds most TV embarrassing, he doesn’t do podcasts and he’s surprised anyone on the British comedy scene remembers him. He long ago left it behind. From the twisted genius of horror master Garth Marenghi – Frighternerman, Darkscribe, Doomsage (plus Man-Shee) – come three dark tales from his long-lost multi-volume epic: TerrorTome.

From the twisted genius of horror master Garth Marenghi - Frighternerman, Darkscribe, Doomsage (plus Man-Shee) - come three dark tales from his long-lost multi-volume epic: TerrorTome. Is that all I hear you ask, no that is most definitely not all. There are far too many occurrences, unnerving events than I could list here so you were wrong to ask that. Bang wrong. From the twisted genius of horror master Garth Marenghi - Frighternerman, Darkscribe, Doomsage (plus Man-Shee) - come three dark tales from his long-lost multi-volume epic: TerrorTome . The amazing visual presentation is followed by other good touches such as slow yet brutal deaths, and close-ups of the gore. It’s common to see these in fighting games, but it’s still satisfying to see after the end of every match. Nothing brings euphoria quite like seeing the bad guy receive violent punishment. A horrifyingly ambitious crossover Terrordrome is a 2D fighting game in which some of the most popular horror film characters of all time gather to take up their weapons and machetes in one of the bloodiest games of the genre. Books like TerrorTome - so dense with brilliant jokes that it cannot safely be read while drinking hot liquid - are rare indeed. It is clear that Holness loves horror; like the recent Ladybird books and BBC Two's Philomena Cunk, this is a parody that knows and respects its source material. The result is something very bad - and very, very good ― The i Why Early Access?“We wanted to release on Early Access so our audience can try the game out for themselves and help us support us later down the road.
