Found family is a common theme in many of Lucy Score’s books and you get more of this in Things We Left Behind. You are always my business. You always have been and always will be. The only difference is now you know it” Sloane Walton is a spitfire determined to carry on her father’s quest for justice. She’ll do that just as soon as she figures out exactly what the man she hates did to—or for—her family. Considering how long yet incredibly delightful Lucy Score’s romance books are, I can’t imagine how fast she’s writing to catch up. However, the major takeaway aside from her upcoming release is the title for Lucian and Sloane’s story. Castiel once again wears a tie. This is the first time since he discarded Jimmy Novak's clothes in I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here that he has worn a tie. However, after he no longer needs it, he discards it again.
Sloane Walton is a fiery young woman who is committed to continuing her father’s fight for fairness. She plans to do so once she learns what the man she despises did to (or for) her loved ones. Sloane trusts Lucian about as far as she can throw his designer-suited physique because they share a dark secret from their history and hate for one other. From the very beginning, I needed to jump into the minds of Sloane and Lucian. Sloane’s librarian persona with its underlying sensuality was utterly captivating, and Lucian swiftly became my favorite leading man among Lucy’s literary creations. He flawlessly combines the gruffness of the Morgan men with a heart of gold, especially when it concerns Sloane. The glimpses into their shared teenage past were also a really nice touch! As my beautiful wife pointed out, if we’d done our job right, Caden would be a well-adjusted, productive adult who knew what he wanted. So far, her prediction appeared to be accurate. Even Emry, who was in the family room with his wife, Sacha, wearing a Hanukkah sweater and explaining the dreidel to Nash’s twins, assured me that they seemed like a happy, healthy couple.

At the Men of Letters bunker, Dean is watching The Three Stooges on a laptop laughing very hard, obviously faking it. Sam comes and joins in, giving Dean a grilled cheese sandwich, with Dean enjoying it a little too much. Sam looks over at the Mark of Cain and it looks like it's only gotten worse, but Dean continues to enjoy the video despite this. I said it from the first time Lucian was mentioned in TWNGO that he was going to the the end all be all for me and I was 100000000000% right. My semiretirement hadn’t been the bump I’d expected it to be. Nolan and Lina had been promoted. The unbearably chipper Holly had moved in next door to us in my old house with her new husband to work with Sloane’s foundation.
