About this deal

NOSE- some parmesan cheese and olive brine, citrus, buttery, caramel, nice cooked agave, and anise. It is delicious, silky but bold, balanced and tasty. Over 25 years ago, Clase Azul hit the shelves and made one of the biggest impacts ever seen in the liquor and spirits industry. The hand-painted blue and white ceramic decanter is the perfect introduction to the level of care and craftsmanship that goes into every batch. Aromas of citrus, caramel, butter, cooked agave, and sage are the beginning of a pleasingly balanced and very unique tasting experience. Fortaleza Reposado has its own distinct character, and is not like any other tequila. Flavours include cooked agave, citrus, vanilla, apple, earth, and cinnamon. The finish is long and rich, delicately spicy, and it has an oily texture that make this a joy to drink PRODUCTION- Stone horno cooked, 100% Tahona crushed, open air fermentation in old world wooden fermentation tanks, double distilled using natural spring water and copper pot stills. THIS is how to do Tequila. Nose: Fruity introduction: Pineapple/citrus/green apple. A touch of oak. Underlying spices and vanilla trying to emerge. Earthy minerals.

It’s not recommended to use it as a mixer as its high quality and delicate flavors could be overshadowed by mixers. Fortaleza Reposado facts: Fortaleza crafts Tequila using traditional methods such as cooking the agaves in stone ovens, extracting the juice from the agave using a 2-ton tahona stone, and fermenting them in the open air without the use of yeasts.Nose: Rich agave with hints of caramel. Minerals. Round spices, anise and green peppercorns in brine. While blanco is the leading product sold by most Tequila producers, for Herradura it’s the reposado, which constitutes 70% of the brand’s sales. Aged for 11 months in American oak barrels, it’s creamy up-front, with fruity pineapple, pear and unripe banana, sweet demerara sugar, macadamia nuts and a drying finish with dried chilli flakes. Alc 40% Age: Tequila reposado is most commonly rested in American and French oak barrels. Reposado must be aged for at least two months but no longer than 364 days. There are no size restrictions on the vessel in which a Reposado is aged so they can vary from traditional 220 liter whiskey barrels, to large wooden vats called pipones. The name “reposado” translates to “rested” in Spanish, reflecting the time it takes to qualify as a reposado. Nose: The overall aroma profile on lote 74 is a departure from most Fortaleza repos in my experience. It opens with spiced pear, a hint of oak, dried powdered ginger, cloves and cinnamon. There is a flowery, perfume like bouquet mingling with the scent of lemon zest. There is just the tiniest hint of lactic and clay notes. Fortaleza Reposado offers a nice balance of agave flavor and sweetness combined with the oaky notes from the bourbon barrel.

Don Cenobio was the first person to export "mezcal de tequila" to the United States with the name of "Tequila", implemented the use of steam to cook the agave instead of a pit (as mezcal is produced nowadays) and stated that Blue Agave Tequilana Webber is the best for Tequila production. Here, I’m not just sharing opinions; I’m weaving tales from the rich tapestry of my experiences over these three decades. While you may not typically think of pairing Tequila with specific foods unless you're having a Mexican-inspired meal, the distilled spirit goes well with several delicious entrees and sides. TASTE- medium oils, nice agave presence, buttery and earthy with cinnamon, some vanilla, and spice. Nice presence of citrus, vanilla, caramel, olive and some fruit. This is deliciously balanced and totally amazing. In 1976 the business was sold, but the family kept the land with the Hacienda and the distillery, and in 1999 Don Guillermo began the process of getting the old small distillery working again.I’m J Highland, and for over 30 years, I’ve been deeply immersed in the captivating world of Tequila, Mezcal, and other agave spirits. Although Añejo Tequilas are not usually my preferred choice due to the risk of losing the unique agave taste and taking on a bourbon-like flavor, Fortaleza Añejo is an exception to the rule, and it is one of the most intricate Tequilas that I have ever tasted. When it comes to Tequila, the sweet agave taste is the highlight of every sip. The balance between the subtle oaky flavor and complementary mixers and garnishes is achieved through precision and a master blender's expert palate. Tequila reposado should be sipped slowly, not taken as a shot. Sipping allows you to savor the taste and take your time finding the subtleties underneath the initial agave flavor. With small sips, you can learn how to recognize these flavors and expand your understanding of Tequila. This is why quality is the biggest factor in sipping Tequila. Liquor Replacement The insights I’ve gained aren’t just from books or hearsay; they are the result of hands-on experience, countless tastings, and an enduring passion for these spirits.
