For hot tub owners new to bromine, it's not always as simple as just adding it to the water and seeing it show up on test strips. In fact, it's a common problem to see no bromine reading at all, especially when you are first setting up the hot tub.

Most owners follow a strict maintenance routine for exactly this reason. Routine cleaning also makes it simple for you to stay on schedule, ensuring your water is working at its best 24/7. In the event of spillage, clean up using clean receptacles and dispose of carefully. Do not add water to spilled materials. Do not use floor sweeping compounds to clean up spills. The large 200g tablets are mainly designed for swimming pools whilst the 20g tablets are for hot tubs and small splasher pools.Due to the water capacity, we do not reccomend using large 200gswimming pool tablets in a hot tub as they will lead to high levels of chlorine which could cause damage to components. Use 20g chlorine tablets only in hot tubs. How Long do Chlorine Tablets Last in a Hot Tub? Never use unlabelled chemicals and please read the instructions before use. Avoid getting chemicals in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapours when opening a container. Avoid creation of dust. Never add water to the product. Always add product to large quantities of water. Use separate clean dry utensils for each chemical and clean after use. Treating your hot tub with chlorine If you've tested your levels and confirmed the bromine is really too high (above 10 ppm), there are a few things you can try: Chlorine tablets are very easy to use – pop them in a floating dispenser and leave it to bob around. Job done. However, one issue with tablets that some hot tub owners have is that it can be hard to boost chlorine levels with tablets as they are in set doses. As mentioned above, some tablet users end up boosting chlorine levels with granules. For a hands-off approach chlorine tablets certainly have their benefits.
