About this deal

Please note: The table is only applicable to Clearwater® Chemicals. Dosages are only approximate and the effect of chemicals on your water can vary each time you use them, depending on the exact amount of water in your hot tub, water type, water temperature, positioning of hot tub etc. Therefore it is essential to test the water every time before you use it. For hot tub owners new to bromine, it's not always as simple as just adding it to the water and seeing it show up on test strips. In fact, it's a common problem to see no bromine reading at all, especially when you are first setting up the hot tub.

Most owners follow a strict maintenance routine for exactly this reason. Routine cleaning also makes it simple for you to stay on schedule, ensuring your water is working at its best 24/7. Break down Chloramines – sanitiser reacts with bather pollutants such as perspiration or dead skin, and produces a less effective chemical compound called chloramines which needs to be broken down. Chloramines have a strong chlorine odour that is often mistaken for too much chlorine, and make the water appear cloudy. While using chemicals in your wood-fired hot tub adds convenience to its maintenance, it’s not as simple as “throwing a few tablets in the water”. It’s not uncommon for people to react to chemicals differently (which may affect your guests). All chemicals have the potential to be dangerous, and should be used, handled and stored with the utmost care and diligence. Chlorine tablets (Trichlor) are acidic which means PH and Alkalinity will reduce when using this product. This means more PH balancing is required than using a more PH neutral product like chlorine granules. Our heaters have a CE ErP rating of A, so 92% of the energy used is transferred directly to the water Multifunction chlorine tablets offer a more hands-off approach to chlorinating your spa. You can control the amount of chlorine released into the hot tub by adjusting the opening on your Chemical Floater or ChemConnect Dispenser so you can easily maintain a constant level of chlorine. Additionally, the tablets contain Algaecide and Water Clarifier for even easier water management. It's important that the two chemicals don't mix directly. If you were using a floating dispenser with chlorine, you should get a new one to use with bromine tablets so you can be sure there's no chlorine residue in it. To successfully keep your chlorine levels at the ideal level you will need to measure the amount of chlorine you are adding to your spa based on the guidelines on your chemicals. Use Clearwater PH dip test strips to ensure optimal chlorine and pH levels are achieved. PHMB is an interesting treatment because it is soft and stable. It is very insensitive to temperature and pH variations.

Every attempt should be made to avoid mixing spilled material with other chemicals or debris when cleaning up. Do not attempt to reseal any contaminated drums. Do not transport wet or damp material.Swimmer's ear, or acute diffuse external otitis, usually occurs when bacteria from water infect the ear. A person may contract it from spending time… READ MORE Chlorine is a sanitiser that controls and prevents bacteria growth and is essential for the hot tub water to be clean and safe to use. The recommended Free Chlorine* level in a hot tub is 3-5ppm (parts per million).

In the event of spillage, clean up using clean receptacles and dispose of carefully. Do not add water to spilled materials. Do not use floor sweeping compounds to clean up spills. Sweep and scoop spilled material into clean, dedicated equipment. When you’re ready to begin mixing your chemicals, you should handle them with chemical resistant gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. It is also advised to wear tightly sealed goggles and appropriate protective clothing such as long sleeves, trousers, and closed-toed shoes that fully protect your feet from spills. You should also wash your hands after handling chemicals. Place it somewhere it won’t get damaged if you accidentally spill chlorine. Turn off the pump so there’s no water coming through the jets and the water is still. Step 2. Balance The Water This product will reduce the tendency of the spa water to foam, but it will not always stop it entirely. Foam is created as a reaction to natural oils in our skin, as well as contaminants such as remnants of detergents in swimwear, cosmetics and deodorants, etc. Showering with your swimwear on before entering the water will help reduce foam.Whenever I've bought a bottle of bromine tablets, there's always been powder in the bottom, where the some of the tablets have been broken or crushed. It seemed a shame to waste, so I experimented with using it in my spa. Your hot tub will need to be treated with a Sanitiser to control and prevent bacteria growth. Bacteria can multiply rapidly in a hot environment, so you must maintain an appropriate sanitiser level to ensure any bacteria in the water is killed. There are two main sanitisers available to keep your hot tub clean and these are chlorine and bromine. Option One – Chlorine Chlorine granules are relatively easy to measure and apply. Simply measure out the required amount into a cap or measuring device and add to the water. If you are unsure of the correct amount, you can add chlorine little by little until you reach perfection.

There are two mainsizes of chlorine tablet on the market. A 200g large chlorine tablet (3 inch diamater) and a 20g small chlorine tablet (1 inch diameter). The large 200g tablets are mainly designed for swimming pools whilst the 20g tablets are for hot tubs and small splasher pools.Due to the water capacity, we do not reccomend using large 200gswimming pool tablets in a hot tub as they will lead to high levels of chlorine which could cause damage to components. Use 20g chlorine tablets only in hot tubs. How Long do Chlorine Tablets Last in a Hot Tub? Never use unlabelled chemicals and please read the instructions before use. Avoid getting chemicals in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapours when opening a container. Avoid creation of dust. Never add water to the product. Always add product to large quantities of water. Use separate clean dry utensils for each chemical and clean after use. Do not add the product to any dispensing device containing residuals of other products. If this is the first time or a pool you don’t know, remember that there are no stupid or unnecessary questions. It is better to find out and ask when you are not sure what you are doing, whether it is at a specialist store, a forum or a friend. You will save time, money and frustration with the condition of your pool water. Treating your hot tub with chlorine If you've tested your levels and confirmed the bromine is really too high (above 10 ppm), there are a few things you can try: Chlorine tablets are very easy to use – pop them in a floating dispenser and leave it to bob around. Job done. However, one issue with tablets that some hot tub owners have is that it can be hard to boost chlorine levels with tablets as they are in set doses. As mentioned above, some tablet users end up boosting chlorine levels with granules. For a hands-off approach chlorine tablets certainly have their benefits.
