About this deal

From the critically acclaimed author of Something To Talk About comes a sharp and sexy rom-com about a college senior who accidentally hooks up with her best friend’s mom. After an embarrassing loss to her ex-girlfriend in their first basketball game of the season, seventeen-year-old Scottie Zajac gets into a fender bender with the worst possible person: her nemesis, Irene Abraham, head cheerleader for the Fighting Reindeer.

After losing to her ex-girlfriend in their first basketball game since their breakup, Scottie Zajac gets into a fender bender with the worst person possible: her head cheerleader nemesis Irene Abraham. Irene is as mean as she is beautiful, and Scottie makes a point to keep her distance, only their little car accident means the girls are forced to ride together to school. Every day. I dig my sneakers into the court and try to focus on playing defense. We’re playing man-to-man, which is usually my strong suit, but tonight it’s tripping me up because the opponent I’m guarding happens to be my ex-teammate. Booklist, starred review A cast of characters you'll fall in love with and a love story you'll be obsessed with. She Drives Me Crazy is one of my favorite rom-coms of the year. Trust me when I say you need this book. Hilarious and full of heart, with a sizzling romance. SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY nails both the hate to love and fake dating tropes with expert execution. I want to live in this town and be friends with these characters so badly, and I'm deeply sad that I can't." Y'all, I loved this. Loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it!!!!!! Also like, this is a perfect book to use for the lesbian apocalypse. If lesbianism was a thing, this book would be the perfect model. ;PIrene turns to me. There’s a challenge in her eyes, but a question, too. It’s like we’re having a wordless conversation, and when I see her eyes flit to my mouth, I know what’s going to happen before it does. And I don’t stop it.

The Writing was super fun to read! I loved how the author carried the plot and it had all of my favorite tropes! A little sweet, a little sharp, this romance will resonate with readers looking for an emotional journey.Irene is such a cool person. She's smart funny brave and headstrong. She won't take shit from anyone. Though she may appear all strong and evil, she is actually a cinnamon roll.🥺 Perfectly captures the joys and hopes and thrills of being a real, authentic teenager . . . A fantastic read for queer teens today.” —Kacen Callender, Stonewall and Lambda Award–winning author This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story I breathe in sharply. I know it’s not a good idea, but I can’t pass up this chance for a moment alone with her. “Sure, okay.” I hurl the basketball like we’re playing dodgeball and I’m determined to take out their entire team. I feel one boiling second of satisfaction, but then— The narration of the audiobook by Piper Goodeve, was great. I felt like I watched a movie when I was done. All the characters came alive and felt like they had their own voices. It didn’t feel like anyone was just slightly different, instead I could easily tell which character was talking from their unique voice and this is a large cast since it takes place at high school, parties, and with families. Minus one dad character voice that was pretty over the top, I think this is one of the more impressive audiobook narrations I’ve heard before so I would easily recommend it.

A showrunner and her assistant give the world something to talk about when they accidentally fuel a ridiculous rumor in this debut romance. The secondary characters were all great. I especially loved the wonderful and supportive tight-knit group of friends as I always do with Kelly Quindlen(excluding trashbag Clay from HNITS, of course.) You would think, based on the fact that I’ve watched the Say Anything … boom box scene a million times, that I wouldn’t have bumblebees in my stomach when my cheerleader girlfriend reenacts it for me in the school parking lot. You would think, based on the fact that I’ve played varsity basketball for three years now, that I know how to score a basket. By the time I catch up to her, Tally has already taken her shot. It sails crisply and cleanly through the basket in a perfect, nothing-but-net arc. The gold section of the crowd—which is pretty much all of it—roars with delight. One of their supporters waves a sign that reads Tally it up!!! It makes me want to vomit.Y'all. This was messy, queer, fake-dating, enemies-to-lovers PERFECTION. I enjoyed this so much!!!! An absolutely stunning, but also incredibly important novel about best friends and discovering who you are." —Mason Deaver, bestselling author of I Wish You All the Best

First there’s the embarrassing loss to her ex-girlfriend in their first basketball game of the season, and then she gets into a fender bender with the worst possible person: her head cheerleader nemesis, Irene Abraham.Perfectly captures the joys and hopes and thrills of being a real, authentic teenager . . . A fantastic read for queer teens today.”—Kacen Callender, Stonewall and Lambd Scottie was TBH, kinda irritating. I found her extremely rude most of the time especially when she shouted at Irene multiple times. She is flawed yes, but this just makes her obnoxious. Leah Johnson, author of You Should See Me in a Crown Hilarious and full of heart, with a sizzling romance. She Drives Me Crazy nails both the hate to love and fake dating tropes with expert execution. I want to live in this town and be friends with these characters so badly, and I'm deeply sad that I can't. One thing I also loved about the plot was the way that teens were portrayed. Honestly I don’t really notice when teens are portrayed in a meh or okay way (as in it would have to be really bad for me to notice) but I really felt like this book captured so many of the stressful aspects of going to school and thinking about how the rest of your life is gonna go, along with the other parts of being a teenager in the modern world. Of course, there were still some cliche parts, but that’s to be expected.
