About this deal

Sister" Professor Krysten Shultz: A former director at Harvard School of Engineering, until she disappeared twelve years previously, and responsible for developing the radio implants in the Numbers' heads. She has "long white hair that swept down over her shoulders, and a thin, angular face with a nose like a kitchen knife", with glasses and dangling silver earrings. At Harvard, she was leading microscopic radio receivers using diamonds, so she was responsible for creating the Numbers. She has responsibility for academic training of the Numbers. When John Rider, Alex's father, came to work for Scorpia, Julia fell in love with him, but after he was discovered to be a double agent, Julia plans to kill him. She assigned Ash to kill his friend to prove that he is ready to join Scorpia. A couple of years later, Alex meets Sahara Sands again, where she reveals her father was working in the office of the American Secretary of Defense, and that his laptop hard drive contained classified information on the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. da Silva had presumably been hired to steal the laptop and leak the data, which would have resulted in a huge embarrassment for the US government. Returning to the present day, after the previous story, Alex Rider runs into the assassin Yassen Gregorovich (who killed Alex's uncle previously) while on holiday in the South of France with his friend Sabina Pleasure. When the Pleasures' holiday home explodes in a supposed gas leak, injuring Sabina's father in the process, Alex suspects Yassen is involved and sneaks onto his yacht. He comes incredibly close to shooting Yassen, but Yassen outthinks him, captures him and enters him in a bullfight as a penalty. After escaping, Alex calls a number he found on Yassen's mobile phone and hears pop star Damian Cray's voice. Alexander Rider was born on February 13, 1996, [14] in East London, England, to John Rider, an MI6 agent and Helen Rider, at the time working as a nurse in radiology.

In the film adaption of Stormbreaker, he was portrayed by Jimmy Carr, with the character's name changed (by an unusual request from the real MI6) to "John Crawford". In the TV series, he is played by Ace Bhatti, once again under the name "John Crawley".Elements of the first book ‘Stormbreaker’ have been woven in with the main plot of ‘Point Blanc’ to create the new eight-episode series, which introduces the world to teenage MI6 agent Alex. The strange circumstances surrounding the loss of Alex’s uncle Ian Rider (played by Broadchurch’s Andrew Buchan) are borrowed from the first book, as is Alex’s reluctant recruitment by British Intelligence. Major Winston Yu (deceased, broke every single bone in his body spontaneously after his yacht was hit by a tidal wave) Cray's death sequence is very similar to those of Gustav Graves and Major Grant, who are antagonists in Die Another Day and Die Hard 2 respectively. His character is also identical to Graves: It looks like Alex ‘has a lot going on’ and is struggling to balance his espionage with being a ‘normal’ teenager. Alex is onychophagiac (bites his nails). This is a common habit associated with anxiety due to nervousness and stress, revealed in Point Blanc. [18]

He didn't start using expletives in the series until he was forced to go on a 12-hour hike near the end of his SAS training, where he was mentioned to have directed his fury at Alan Blunt for having to suffer through unfair consequences before he could be considered fit enough for MI6 field work.Alex continues to investigate when Cray finds out what Alex is doing and forces him to take part in a real life replica of Cray’s video game. Before he escapes, he does some searching and steals the flash-drive he had seen Cray with before he was caught, knowing it was important. A furious Cray then kidnaps Sabina on Yassen’s advice to force Alex to return the flash-drive to him. Cray reveals his plan to launch 25 nuclear missiles and destroy all the drug sources in the world, claiming drugs to be “the greatest evil”. Alex and Sabina are then taken hostage by Cray and forced onto Air Force One, the Presidential Plane, where Cray can authorize the missiles release on. Yassen is shot dead when he refuses to kill Alex, though he is avenged moments later after Alex pushes Cray into the plane’s engine, killing him. Yassen tells Alex to find Scorpia before he dies, while Sabina disables Cray’s missile launch. Alex's official year of birth is stated as being 1987, with Alex stating in Point Blanc that he was two years old in 1989. [18] However, in Snakehead Alex remembers the Boxing Day Tsunami (2004). [13] Then in the US version of Crocodile Tears, it mentions Obama as being the President of the United States. [24] Considering these events, his birth year would more reliably be February 13, 1996.
