About this deal

Contains paracetamol. Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine. Do not take with other flu, cold or decongestant products. Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. If you do not get better, talk to your doctor. Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactose deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.

Warnings and Precautions: Patients should be advised not to take other paracetamol-containing products concurrently, especially those with non-cirrhotic alcoholic liver disease. Do not take with other sympathomimetics, decongestants or cold and flu medicines should be avoided. Medical advice should be sought before using this product in patients with an enlargement of the prostate gland, glutathione depletion due to metabolic deficiencies, occlusive vascular disease, and cardiovascular disease. Excessive intake of caffeine should be avoided. Patients who are taking warfarin should seek medical advice before taking this product. Contains sunset yellow/ amaranth (E110) which may cause an allergic reaction. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose. Beechams max strength all in one hot drinks contain sodium (117mg per sachet). This should be taken into consideration if you are on a controlled-sodium diet. Treatment with activated charcoal should be considered if the overdose has been taken within one hour. Plasma paracetamol concentration should be measured at four hours or later after ingestion (earlier concentrations are unreliable). Treatment with N-acetylcysteine, may be used up to 24 hours after ingestion of paracetamol, however, the maximum protective effect is obtained up to eight hours post-ingestion. The effectiveness of the antidote declines sharply after this time. If required the patient should be given intravenous N-acetylcysteine, in line with the established dosage schedule. If vomiting is not a problem, oral methionine may be a suitable alternative for remote areas, outside hospital. Management of patients who present with serious hepatic dysfunction beyond 24 hours from ingestion should be discussed with the National Poisons Information Service (NPIS) or a liver unit. This medicine is licensed for adults aged 16 years and over. How does Beechams max strength all in one work?Symptoms of paracetamol overdosage in the first 24 hours are pallor, nausea, vomiting, anorexia and abdominal pain. Liver damage may become apparent 12 to 48 hours after ingestion. Abnormalities of glucose metabolism and metabolic acidosis may occur. In severe poisoning, hepatic failure may progress to encephalopathy, haemorrhage, hypoglycaemia, cerebral oedema, and death. Acute renal failure with acute tubular necrosis, strongly suggested by loin pain, haematuria and proteinuria, may develop even in the absence of severe liver damage. Cardiac arrhythmias and pancreatitis have been reported. Concomitant use of other paracetamol-containing products should be avoided. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.

Don't take Beechams max strength all in one if you're taking any of the following medicines, because the combination may increase your blood pressure: Beechams all in one tablets and liquid contain the painkiller paracetamol, a cough expectorant called guaifenesin and a decongestant called phenylephrine hydrochloride. These three active ingredients have different actions to relieve your symptoms. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactose deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsoption should not take this medicine.
