About this deal

Each time the light is turned on, the indicator will indicate the battery level and will last for 3 seconds. On a side note: my Samsung 21700 40T (flat tops) don’t work because of the reverse polarity protection. The positive side doesn’t connect to the driver board because of this. Below are interactive comparison graphs for a selection of these tactical lights. Hover your mouse to see more details. If you use a mobile device, rotate your phone horizontally. Fully press the tactical switch to constantly turn on the light, press once again to turn off the light.

Fenix PD36R Pro | Fenix light UK

Fenix PD36R is a new breed of compact tactical flashlight with 1600 lumen output which takes advantage of the latest 21700 Li-ion battery technology to offer performance at the extreme end of what's currently available! With the new 21700 cell (supplied) having a capacity of 5000 mAh, Fenix PD36R offers blistering light output with superior run times. With all the features of the Fenix PD35 V2.0 and UC35 V2.0 torches, PD36R gives you much more performance in a slightly shorter body that's only 1mm wider! An upgrade of the popular Fenix PD36R, the Pro version is 75% brighter and offers a 34% further beam reach. It also supports a remote pressure switch (AER-05 sold separately) and has an improved operation system. The torch is operated by dual switches on the tail end; a tactical button which turns the light on and off, and a functional switch which cycles through the brightness levels and strobe mode.I think it's a shame that the capacity of the eco-mode has been increased, 30 lumens is now the minimum output. For orientation purposes or when you're indoors, this mode is too bright. I would like to have a lower (additional) mode of 5 lumens or even less, with the added advantage that the battery charge would last even longer. A 'shortcut' to activate the turbo mode would be a nice addition. Value for money? For my heat and runtime, I tested with the supplied Fenix 5000mAh battery, on my Texas Ace Lumen tube. Turbo starts out here a the claimed lumens but by 1 minute it’s stepped down to about 750 lumens because the heat was up to about 43C. It increases the output some in the next 20 minutes as heat dissipates, but the light has a substantial drop at about 2:10:00, then again at 3:20:00, and once more at 4:30:00, where it runs at it’s the lowest output for many more hours. Total runtime was right around 8 hours, and the light does flash in the last hour of use to indicate it’s the battery is low. When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the battery level indicator constantly blinks red toremind youto timely recharge or replace the battery.

Fenix PD36R Pro | Expert Review by Koen van der Jagt Fenix PD36R Pro | Expert Review by Koen van der Jagt

The Fenix PD36R Pro is a pretty large upgrade over the older PD36R in nearly all metrics and is overall a well-rounded flashlight. However, I can’t help to draw on the large number of similarities to the TK20R 2.0 that I reviewed earlier this year. Same LED, Same UI, Same battery, very similar performance, Same tail cap, and same clip. Where they differ is mainly in the charging port cover, and head size. The TK20R V2 is more of a tactical purpose, where as the PD36R Pro is more EDC/General use while also being capable of tactical use. Olight and Fenix manufacture flashlights that use both disposable and rechargeable batteries. The ability to recharge the battery is an attractive prospect to those interested in reducing the long-term costs associated with running flashlights. It also ensures that you’re able to keep your light running as long as you have access to an electrical power source. The X9R Marauder is Olight’s brightest and most powerful flashlight. By using six Cree XHP70.2 LED lights, the X9R is capable of producing 25,000 lumens and 99,200 candelas. While it exceeds the light output of the Fenix by 7,000, its beam intensity is approximately one third that of the LR80R. This results in more flood and a less well-defined hotspot.

When using the included battery, if the battery voltage drops below 3 V the torch is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until eco output is reached, at which point the battery indicator will flash red to remind you to charge the battery.

Cu lanterna pornită, tineți apăsat pe comutatorul funcțional (lateral) timp de 0.5 secunde pentru a intra în modul stroboscop, iar apoi mai apăsați încă odată pentru a revenila modul general.

This increased light output and intensity does come at the expense of increased weight and length. The X9R is 12.6 inches in length and weighs 65.43 ounces — almost half a pound more. The reflector is smooth. This is a tube light (essentially) so the reflector isn’t too broad. But it’s consistent with the PD36 style. Why does the PD36R V2.0 downshift to a lower mode after being used for a while and the higher mode cannot be selected? The second switch is a side, indicating e-switch, made of what looks to be copper, but is likely bronze coated metal. The center of the switch has an indicator behind it. In the runtime tests, the output got to points where it would rapidly fluctuate a small amount (say, 5-10% of output). The difference is enough that it would trigger my lumen logger to take a reading several times per second and eventually the flood of data would overwhelm my humble logging setup. Because of that, I had to terminate the tests before the light fully shut off, but well after it got below the ANSI 10% threshold as described below. The manual states it can charge up to 3Amps. Be sure to have a high power USB charger. This will reduce charging times. 3A is really fast, but my USB charger can only supply 2 Amps. See the picture below.
