About this deal

Your skin feels dry, itchy and scaly when the outer layer of skin cells, known as the stratum corneum, loses too much water. The stratum corneum normally contains natural water-holding substances that retain water seeping up from the deeper layers of the skin. Water is also usually kept in the skin by a film of natural oil (sebum) and broken-down skin cells that slow down evaporation of water from the skin surface. If you have eczema, using a moisturiser regularly, even once your skin has improved, can help prevent flare-ups and reduce the need for topical corticosteroids.

As a substitute for soap when washing hands or in the bath. It cleanses the skin while also preventing it from drying out. Moisturisers are helpful for all dry skin conditions, particularly eczema, which gets worse when the skin is allowed to dry out. Used regularly they help restore the skin's smoothness, softness and flexibility by helping the skin retain moisture. This reduces redness, scaling and itching. If you're using Hydromol ointment as a moisturiser you can apply it as often as needed to relieve dry skin. It can be applied to any part of the body but avoid getting it in your eyes. Smooth the ointment into the skin in the direction of the hair growth. script>
