About this deal

The Cloud MIX Buds have omni-directional mics, which are…okay. People were able to hear my voice clearly over video and voice calls, but I’m very loud and my friends pointed out that it didn’t sound nearly as good as when I use a headset with a boom mic. I was also able to take calls on the street without issue, but the mics don’t have any built-in active noise canceling and the people on the other end of the line could definitely hear what was going on around me. Software for the HyperX Cloud MIX Buds

Yet, the Battle Buds also have in-line volume controls, which is an essential tool in gaming. This is a key feature missing from the Cloud Earbuds. The short answer is that the Cloud Earbuds perform well enough, and provides an immersive experience for gaming alone. The 20 – 20 000 Hz frequency is balanced with a warm midrange and well-rounded highs. HyperX has said that these gaming earbuds come with ‘improved bass’ and that is somewhat true. Earbuds often struggle to compete against headphones in the lows because they’re limited by driver size. HyperX is a brand known for its high-quality gaming peripherals. They have released headphones, keyboards, and mice catered towards casual players and professionals. It should, therefore, come as no surprise that the company is having a go at the expanding gaming earbud market. Traditionally, we have all been led to believe that headphones reign supreme in terms of audio quality. In most cases, this is the truth, but with the increase in mobile and console gaming, the HyperX Cloud Earbuds aim to close the gap between performance and comfortability. DesignIn an effort to achieve total sound isolation, I turned the volume up to the maximum level, but this resulted in major sound leakage. Anyone around you is sure to hear whatever game you’re playing. I pulled the zipper of the pouch and was greeted with a lovely sight of the IEMs very neatly contained inside. Upon closer look, it turns out to be fastened together with a cable tie. I like this a lot, as it prevents tangling and keeps it from spilling out once you’ve opened the very compact case. The inside of the pouch

First off, the pouch is simple, yet looks quite elegant if you ask me. The HyperX logo on top is a nice touch. I like that they didn’t choose to be flashy with their name on it, and decided to go with an embossed design.

Topics

HyperX’s NGENUITY has been — will be? — updated for the Cloud MIX Buds. The iOS app is available now but I wasn’t able to get the Windows app to update and/or recognize the earbuds. The software isn’t amazing, but it does offer a couple of useful settings and features.
