About this deal

A far superior product that will pay for itself in a relatively short period of time. We are very pleased with our new LED lights from LED Saving Specialist and will buy more when we expand our premises." Beyond that, you can decide if you want something more than an on/off toggle, like a dimmer or motion sensors. If you already have a whole suite of smart home devices in play, you might consider a switch with a display that serves as a central control panel. Installation of the smart switch is a DIY job, but it’s once you’ve connected your switch to the Lightwave app that the real fun begins. Create ‘scenes’ – personalised lighting configurations to match the mood you’re in, or the activities you have planned for the evening. A mix of blues and greens might be great for yoga, perhaps, whereas yellow might be your colour for reading. A rosy pink hue… we’ll leave that one up to you.

I've been an early adopter for smart device (IOT) and started to upgrade all my light switches to the Deta grid connect from 2020. Eventually I have now completed my home upgrade to have all my switches to the Deta smart switch however I now have found 1 issue since converting which may be a problem to some or not.

Smart WiFi Outdoor Relay Switch

Disconnect your old switch from your home’s wiring. You might need to snip and strip off about a half inch of the wire sheath to expose he copper wire underneath. You can use wire snip or any similar tool for this step.

Smart WiFi In Line Switch (max load 1000W) - ENER-J

I mean, 2+yrs is not that bad but having to log all the events you do at home may be a problem for some. Single-pole switches are the easiest to replace, since only one switch controls the circuit. In a three- or four-way circuit, more than one switch can turn the bulb on and off. In short, yes. The Deta smart switches can't physically be wired as 2-way switches, so you would get your sparky to hook up only one of the smart switches to physically control the lights for the meals room and kitchen. They would then bypass the wiring behind the 2nd smart switch so that it no longer functions as a 2-way switch, and isn't actually connected to anything (besides the power in and the neutral, so that it has power and can be connected to wifi). Installation is straightforward and can be completed in just about 10 minutes. It’s compatible with the wiring found in UK homes of any era, so there’s no requirement for a neutral wire. However, if a neutral wire is available, connecting it to the module is recommended for better control and stable lighting. Essentially, using the neutral wire negates the need for a bypass when using low-wattage LED bulbs. They required an install on the LED lights also so we became a One-Stop Solution and delivered on time and within budget. However, although Smart Switch makes transferring your information easy, there is some data that it can't transfer. HIGH POWER LOADED: This smart Wi-Fi switch supports maximum power of 10A 2200W that can work with most high power electric appliances such as water heater, air-condition and more. AC 90-250V voltage, compatible with Android and iOS smartphones, tablets so just to make sure I understand your current situtation ... are you having 3 switches together (say A, B and C). A controls garden lights. And then B and C controls something else which can also be controlled from switches B2 and C2 in another room. And now you are thinking about just smarting A, by this 3 gang smart switch. Correct? Had it wired in and it does work without a neutral. There is some capacitor whine which is a bit annoying when trying to sleep, and I wonder if the neutral would prevent that (probably not). Thought about that, too. Or I just disconnect the one inside light because I can use it from the other switches..

Regardless of whether your insurance company disowns your policy when you have a house fire, and regardless of whether you can figure out how to make it "work", the objective of using electricians and wiring rules and licences is to make it safe. If you have to figure it out, then clearly you don't know how to make it safe. PLEASE leave it to the experts who DO know how to make it safe. APP REMOTE CONTROL: If you don't have any voice smart devices, you could also control your home electrical appliances via app. User can use a smartphone to remotely control turn on / off home electronics at anytime and anywhere via APP as long as the phone has 2G/3G/4G/WIFI network As a result, you can smart control garden lights, while keeping existing 2-way switching of B and C. The C by GE switch we’re installing in this example uses pigtails, so twist each of the line, load, neutral, and ground wires to the matching wires emerging from the junction box, using a wire nut to hold each of them together. If you’ve installed a switch that doesn’t require a neutral wire (such as the Lutron Caséta mentioned earlier), put a wire nut on the end of that neutral wire coming out of the wall, making sure that none of the bare copper wire remains exposed (you can snip off the excess, or wrap the wire and the wire nut in electrical tape). Daniel Masaoka / IDGWe had LED Saving Specialist's 70W LED linear lowbays installed to replace our old double twin 70W fluorescent tube lights. We replaced 48 fluorescent tubes with 20 LED units. So less than half power consumption is now utilised. Although the building was already well lit, the difference in light quality was incredible with the colourful climbing walls and holds transformed by the lighting change.
