About this deal

It’s a bit of an ambiguous statement, and all it says that it’s NOT part of the April 2023 release, so who knows if its truly cancelled, or its been delayed. That said, a few copies of 42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey did manage to escape factories and end up at retail in 2020, and are now highly prized among collectors. If any samples of 77014 The Temple of Doom find their way into the wild, they’ll likely be even more valuable given the licence attached to them – and what would be their incredibly exclusive minifigures. Now use Willie to jump up into the empty slave cage, smash the tool canister there and get a blue cog. Carry this over to the right side of the cavern and place it on the broken engine. If you need a wrench, you'll find one in one of the boxes near the right wall. Repair the engine to obtain artifact piece #8.

Before speculating about the reasons for this cancellation, here is the statement provided by LEGO: Anything’s possible, but I think that particular possibility is less likely than most of the others. I've long recognised the issues with Temple of Doom. Even if we accept that the villains aren't supposed to be representative of Indians, and are merely an absurd cult, one can't escape the 'white saviour' narrative, whereby those Indian characters who *aren't* villainous are otherwise helpless and need rescuing by a white man (although, I disagree about the 'pigeon English' complaint; I suspect the American/English characters would sound just as bad, if not worse, were they to attempt Hindi, Pumjabi, Catonese or Mandarin etc. and it stands to reason that Chatter Lal speaks good English, since he was educated in the UK). That's some sub-par cg rendering! What's up with that? I hope these images are still not finalized because these seriously remind me of those horrid renderings on today's instructions. With these it's hard to visualize what your set will actually look like in real life!Move to the tunnel opening above the lava pool. Jump to grab the dangling rope and then jump from there to the small platform ahead. Use a small-size character to go through the crawlspace at the top of the stairs to the right of the slave cage. In the alcove above (i.e., where the escaped slave child is standing next to the lever), you'll find artifact piece #7, along with a valuable purple stud. I don’t think the statement rules anything out. I’d go as far as to say it deliberately dances around 77014 and Dial of Destiny. The notion that they’ve “consolidated the launch” leaves open the possibility of more sets in the future, but it could also be referring to an isolated wave. The statement is too vague to be anything of substance. This isn’t the first time a LEGO set has been cancelled at the last minute. In 2020, the LEGO Group halted the release of 42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey just before it hit shelves, citing its policy not to manufacture military vehicles. The explanation for 77014 The Temple of Doom’s cancellation is much vaguer by contrast, leaving the door open to debate and speculation around exactly why the 801-piece set has faced the chop.

Fighter Plane Chase building set encourages children to recreate an exciting scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade film. Grab Indiana Jones and his father Professor Henry Jones Sr. and hop into the vintage convertible car to outrun the fighter plane and escape the chase. This set comes with 3 minifigures: Indiana Jones, his father Professor Henry Jones Sr. and a fighter pilot for adventures that await in this 387-piece playset. Throughout 2022, the LEGO Group worked closely with Lucasfilm to optimise our planned product line up for the upcoming LEGO Indiana Jones product launches in April 2023,” the LEGO Group shared on the LEGO Ambassador Network. “As an outcome of this, we consolidated the launch to focus on three products (77012, 77013, 77015) that feature some of the most iconic scenes from the Indiana Jones franchise. We hope our fans love the new range and can’t wait to get their hands on them.” If you're an Indiana Jones fan (and a Lego fan), you're undoubtedly interested in the sets based on the franchise. It's a little disappointing that only three are currently available: interestingly, a fourth set based on The Temple of Doom was scheduled to land at the same time, but it was canceled at the eleventh hour. It's likely that more sets may arrive over the course of the year, but the three sets we currently do have all offer something unique, appealing to different corners of the Lego market. I'm cynical, but if you have moral principles, you shouldn't even present Star Wars...the most loved character has "only" massacred children....now I'm going to be lynched :) Given the apparent lateness of this cancellation, one wonders whether a few sets might escape into stores. This impressive Temple of the Golden Idol LEGO® set for adults looks great displayed on a shelf and has lots of interactive functions, including Indiana Jones swinging across a cavern and being chased by a massive boulder. With its easy-to-follow instructions, this custom MOC allows enthusiasts of all skill levels to recreate Mola Ram with ease. The 2023 Temple of Doom set which was meant to be a remake of 7199 The Temple of Doom in inconspicuously absent from this initial wave, and LEGO provided the following statement, via the LEGO Ambassador Network These potential reasons are pure speculation, offered in the absence of any concrete explanation from the LEGO Group, and may not necessarily reflect the real motivations behind 77014 The Temple of Doom’s cancellation. The only thing that’s certain is that the set won’t be launching alongside 77012 Fighter Plane Chase, 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb and 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol on April 1.

Honestly, I am surprised by many of the comments that I just read above. Chill out! All of these CRT buzzwords like cultural appropriation, colonization, values, etc, etc… Stop being a woke snowflake. These are toys (made for kids, mostly bought and built by adults), based on mostly adult film properties, marketed to children. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this Temple of Doom set, nor the Indy theme, itself. This is a fictional work, based on a beloved IP. To say that Indy sets are somehow insensitive or inappropriate, is both hypocritical and pure hyperbole. If you don’t like it, vote with your wallet, don’t buy it! Now grab a bundle of dynamite from the box on the right. Target the jumble of silver bars in the doorway and throw the dynamite to blow them up. Go through the opening to the next area. Honestly, I am surprised by many of the comments that I just read above. Chill out! All of these CRT buzzwords like cultural appropriation, colonization, values, etc, etc… Let’s avoid being woke snowflakes. Not likely anyone will melt if this set is re-released. The Kali possibility also makes sense to me as it's not just a depiction of a deity, but a rather distorted and evil depiction of said deity.I know, we don't get ALL of this from the first movie, but his characters motivations gets a little more revealed in Temple and Crusade. PARCEL: In Free Play, after repairing the lift, return to the small, dead-end tunnel on the left, where you found the machine part. Toggle to a character with explosives and blow up the silver bars to get the parcel, along with a purple stud (worth 10,000) and some others. Why do they even let sets get this far into production, only to decide to cancel them for whatever reason? Remember the City dynamite factory? Or the rescue Technic Osprey?"
