THE LORD OF THE RINGS: RIVENDELL™ 10316 - LEGO

Mentioning this bit of info in the review would have been helpful for those of use who were not privy to that FMD panel discussion. The minifigures are outstanding, especially as you get the Fellowship in a Box and more. With razor-sharp prints, new accessories, new hairpieces and so much more, you can really tell that no expense has been spared with this set. There’s also a lovely timeline of LEGO Lord of the Rings sets, which you may fondly remember from 2012 and 2013. The neighbouring structure retains the patterned roof from Elrond's chambers, although features different bands of colour. The columns underneath are absolutely stunning and I appreciate the continued integration of sand green pieces, which are ubiquitous across Rivendell. The archway looks superb, with a statuette and two undecorated birds creating a decorative frieze on top. It is free to become a LEGO VIP member and you can find out more at www.lego.com/VIP. From 8th March 2023 the LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set will be available at LEGO Retail stores and www.LEGO.com/LOTR.Just to illustrate how majestic and large Rivendell is compared to its contemporaries, here’s Rivendell right next to 10305 Lion Knight’s Castle, which I consider to be the pinnacle of Castle Design. Overall, the recurring characters seem to have faces that look less angry than they may have done in 2012. bdproduct search=’10316′ sort=’discount’ numberOfRecord=’1′ brand=” sliderMinValues=’0′ sliderMaxValues=’750′] — LEGO Icons 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell build —

Edit: on review, I have inadvertently performed a head swap between Pippin and Merry. thanks to reader Jonah B for performing due diligence ] Around the base of the tower, and in the gallery, looking over the shards of Narsil, we have a number of statues, presumably of elven heroes from the past. They are not specifically identified. They all have the same torso, a double-sided head and either straight or wavy hair. There are 3 figures with regular legs, and three with the miniskirt. Give as a gift – This set makes a thoughtful gift for film-lovers and fans of The Lord of the Rings™, who will love immersing themselves in Rivendell™ To have this many named minifigures in a set feels unprecedented, especially characters that are as sought-after as Lord of the Rings minifigures. Buying the older Fellowship of the Ring minifigures on the secondary market would cost you as much as the set itself. We did build at a leisurely pace, but I estimate about 8-10 hours in total for seasoned LEGO builders. The stone bridge and Gazebo allow you to re-enact tender moments between Aragorn and Arwen as they wrestle with their forbidden love affair. And then there’s the gazebo, beautifully constructed from decorative elements, dinosaur tails and life preservers; or the trees, no two of which appear to be designed completely identically. From the ground up, 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell appears to take full advantage of its budget. 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell details

Without getting too hasty, let’s jump into my review of 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell! It’s a long one, so strap in! Go look at prices and similar piece counts/elements/licensed/etc. from past Lego sets and use an inflation calculator. Lego here did the right thing and made it a fair price. "There’s a small pavilion with a pointy tiled roof here with some really neat Elven architecture on show. I really love that each structure has its own unique look, and apart from distinguishing elements like the tiled roof, they each feel different from each other and special in their own way. On the other hand, I much prefer the older versions of Aragorn, Arwen and (aside from the legs) Sam. Aragorn's new face looks good, but I prefer his original outfit; Arwen just feels a little bland here, especially since she uses the same hairpiece as all the other elves while her original minifigure had a unique piece. And Sam... well, if the orange shade for the hair that was used for Merry last time was changed to lighter here because it was too dark for him, it also feels too dark for Sam as well... though that is perhaps a product of making each Hobbit have a different hair colour. His original's slightly more rumpled look and determined expression, too, feel more authentic to me; although I guess since those are a product of his and Frodo's journey to Mordor, it makes sense that he doesn't display them yet in this earlier scene. As you can tell, this is also a Build Together LEGO set, which means that you could share this build with up to 2 other people, and I built it over the course of a few nights together with my wife, while re-watching the extended editions of the movies of course. There’s a small pathway/bridge that leads you to the gazebo, and I like the use of fallen yellow leaves. The gap/chasm between it and the a little unsightly, but I do like the roots of the large tree peeking out. pieces filled with film magic – The set is an immersive project that’s bursting with details and references to The Lord of the Rings™ film trilogy that all fans will recognise Build a Middle-earth™ valley – Create and display a LEGO® version of Rivendell™ with this THE LORD OF THE RINGS: RIVENDELL™ (10316) building set for adultsPeregrin Took is similarly attired in his finery, with a detailed scarf. All three minifigures feature traditional smiles, but also include second expressions chosen to reflect their personalities. Sam accordingly appears very serious and carries a frying pan, while Merry looks excited and Pippin is nervous. Naturally, the more troublesome Hobbits are laden with food, including Elven lembas bread. Three separate sections make up 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, which hopefully means you’ll be able to share the build between three different people. (Unless you keep the precious for yourself, and nobody could blame you here.) With more than 6,000 pieces in the box, it’s likely to take a good long while to assemble either way. Among many interesting features, the roof tiles have attracted particular attention. Rows of sand blue, tan, nougat and sand green 1x1 tiles are laid diagonally across the roof, arranged to create repeated patterns. These correspond exactly with Rivendell's film appearances, with sign pieces flawlessly completing the roof slope. They have never appeared in sand green before, while the nougat 1x1 tiles are also new. And underneath the Gazebo is a cavern that doubles up as an armoury where spare weapons are stored. I really like the simple grindstone used to sharpen blades. The Council Ring
