In terms of responsiveness of the notifications whenever the doorbell button was pressed though, they were excellent, they always worked with no missed events and came through very quickly. My doorbell is running off the initial firmware that was on it when I bought it (Sorry don’t remember what it is currently) and I know there has been at least 3-4 firmware upgrades since so I don’t know if the api is the same or even still accessible with the newer firmware. Some use a device attached to the chime to detect if the doorbell was pressed and others may use something else but I really wanted to just make the API work and oh boy did Dahua(cause lets face it this is a Dahua doorbell) did this wonky. I have not had that issue in the year I been using it but if precise timing on doorbell button push is mission critical you could always monitor the doorbell through other means rather than relying on the AD110 itself or the amcrest app notification.

The Amcrest AD410 features some really great features such as Person Detection, local and cloud storage, RTSP and so much more, but is it any good?Because of its firewall logs I learned that every single camera that I have, from Hikvision, to NSC, to Foscam, wants to "phone home" to IP addresses in China, and I have 15 cameras. AFAIK, you can only set up the doorbell’s wifi and password through the Smart Home app, after that I can access the rtsp stream but doorbell notification (to do 2-way talk) still has to go through the app. Since I designed, built and commissioned a doorbell/intercom with three germanium transistors and a small bunch of other things more than 50 years ago in less time than I have spent just reading up on SIP, I must agree that it is a pain in the posterior. It also takes quite a long time for recordings to actually show up, for instance if you get a notification to say that motion was detected and you press it within sort of the first 60 seconds of getting it, you won’t be able to play back the start of the event because its still recording. The motion detection is fine tuned to only trigger on very large objects (otherwise it will trigger when the person is far away and hard to identify). The built in LED is actually pretty cool for illuminating your porch when its super dark and can be activated by motion or on schedule, just be aware that this could mess with the image quality of the recordings depending on your environment so just be sure to test it out first. I suspect it has something to do with some internal script I can’t access randomly checking if there is an update available for the doorbell and thus triggering the Online status back to false when it fails. Notice, only camera_view: live works at this point since AD110 is not officially supported by the amcrest integration.This opened up everything I needed to achieve my goals such as changing the NTP for local polling of time.
