From the horns to the red skin to even the glowing pentagram sprawling across his torso, Sabbac does indeed match his comic book counterpart. It comes in brown color and consists of two front welt pockets on the outside and two pockets on the inside. This idea connects to Shazam-powered Black Adam’s ancient origin as Teth-Adam—some 3,600 years ago—in DC Comics’ fictional Egypt substitute land of Kahndaq, a place whose eventual destruction Adam would have to witness, during which his wife and children were killed. Of course, this tease is the most revelatory one yet, showcasing the first substantive, non-concept-art glimpse of his Black Adam body suit against the backdrop of wide-shot imagery of wanton destruction. Additionally, besides the foreground dominance of Johnson’s muscle-bound head, the photo also shows a set littered with broken, ancient-looking statues, which, as he states, “gives you a tactile sense of the absolute massive scale and size of our movie” and “a glimpse of the enormous and appropriate destruction.Noah Centineo ( The Fosters) plays Atom Smasher, a JSA hero who has the power of growth and super strength (not unlike other, more famous DC and Marvel characters). Now Adam looks much closer to the comics and his future rival Billy Batson (AKA Shazam), and the suit fits him perfectly when he finally sits on the throne of Kahndaq. In the comics, Cyclone resembled a stereotypical witch, but the film gave her a redesign that kept a green fluttery dress that feels more appropriate for the strong Justice Society member. Black Adam, the long-gestating Dwayne Johnson DC Extended Universe entry, may have started out as a cold-introduction Shazam spinoff affixed to the stardom of a huge headliner, but the film is poised to become a watershed entry in Warner Bros’—to put it generously— confusing cinematic continuity.
Even the future of Shazam is uncertain, as there's no third movie on the current DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters slate. Other than that, Noah Centineo's suit on Al Rothstein is a shockingly loyal adaptation of the Atom Smasher suit seen in the comics. Some of them barely changed anything from what could be seen in the comics while still effectively translating them into live-action form. The new DCEU film stars the Hollywood superstar as rogue anti-hero Teth-Adam, one of the most iconic comic book supervillains of all time.The suit actually looks even better when Black Adam is first resurrected with the heavy cloak that makes Teth Adam look even more imposing and mysterious. Unlike Billy Batson, though, Black Adam draws his powers from the Egyptian gods: Shu, Heru, Amon, Zehuti, Aton, and Mehen.
