You can rotate and flip the piece into whatever orientation you want as long as it doesn’t touch sides with another one of your pieces. During your turn, see if you can block the corners of your opponents’ pieces with the edges on your tiles. The only caveat to placing a piece is that it may not lie adjacent to your other pieces, but instead must be placed touching at least one corner of your pieces already on the board. As you see, the “1” piece consists of only one block, which makes it the easiest piece to play in the game.
