The game encouraged participation and required the players to read, think, and roll with the punches. Uno is of course a firm favourite too, and Cards Against Humanity is also outrageous fun for adults to play when the kids are tucked away in bed. Get a question right, you stay where you are, but get an answer wrong and you can lose up to eight points. I’m very happy to see it get some love at a place that (hopefully) will sway some folks toward giving it a go.
Gubs Card Game — Booghe
GUBS requires the player to constantly reevaluate the cards on the table, the cards in the player’s hand, and the possible cards in the opponent’s hands. It is a true thinking game that would set the novice player quickly down the path of analysis paralysis if it weren’t for the fact that the game moves at such a fast pace. Whenever an Event card is drawn, however, it immediately resolves (most of these are nasty and greatly affect the game). There are 250 prompt cards that range from somewhat innocent circumstances like “who’s most likely to spend all day interpreting a text?In case you somehow haven’t heard of Cards Against Humanity yet, this adult party game sees players complete fill-in-the-blank statements using some rather risqué phrases. A perfect gateway game into the world of Gamewright to which with have added a few more of their titles to our collection off the back of how brilliant this game is.

There was always something that could be done and I never felt like the game was so random as to not allow the players to make choices, act upon them, and play the game they wanted. With richly detailed illustration and a whimsical array of cards, GUBS is a simple yet compelling game. It’s a different take on both the card game and escape room, but one with the same enjoyable payoff.

You could play with strategy and tactics, but you had to think quick, risk much, and reap the rewards quickly before the other players did.He greatly enjoyed how the game unfolded before him, how quickly GUBs were lost and won, and the way you could attack and steal from other players. rewards and attempt to out think, out maneuver, and distance themselves from their opponents as quickly as they can or quickly fall prey to the many traps and hazards that plague the GUBs constantly. Kids familiar with Pokèmon, or gamers experienced with other designs in the genre, like Magic: The Gathering, will pick up Gubs rather quickly. If you have children that can read (and would rather pull your hair out than play another game of Uno), then I would recommend checking Gubs out.
