About this deal

So dear reader, get ready to cry, laugh, get frustrated and feel the emotions of each character in your own flesh.

Against the unforgiving landscape of a hospital, I fell in love with a mischievous, sun-eyed boy who became my only joy in this desolate place. Fancy balloons and faded colored tiles attempt to brighten a space where many enter and leave, feeling dimmed. Should I say I told you so or rat you out for kidnapping me…” C stuffs more candy into his mouth while I open the book from the side pocket and put it in his face. And yeah, that means that throughout the entirety of the book, everyone just referred to Sam by their name. Hikari quickly becomes part of the group and part of their ultimate plan to escape the hospital and live their lives.

And so, the story focuses on friendship and love, and follows these beloved characters throughout their adventures, up until their final one. During his days in the hospital, he met his first love, who was also named Sam, but that special person committed suicide. There also weren’t many “service sentences”; everything felt like it was meant to be a gut punch to the point where nothing felt like one. I feel like we got so much more depth when it comes to the other characters, and Sam was slightly forgotten as he was the narrator. But because both sections are hyper-poetic, it’s confusing, it reads like someone dumped a thesaurus on the page, and it veers away from unique and starts turning the prose more and more purple. Against the unforgiving landscape of a hospital, a group of terminally ill patients embraces the joys within their reach: friendship, freedom, rebellion.

I’m sure you’ve seen numerous reviewers say this already, but it rings true: this book was written as if its only intention was to be quoted. as for the prose, i can see why some people might find it too flowery, but i thought it was very lovely.Obviously illnesses are bad and are not fun, but again, it’s the fact that it’s used to overlook his abuse that’s incredibly dangerous. The world is made up of two kinds of people, first are those who love classics, the second are those who have not yet read a classic. Neo, a peerless poet with an unimaginable talent for writing, shares a fragment of a story with Sam, so Sam doesn't think it was the right ending. I already said these characters had little depth, but this just made it worse considering they all spoke in this equally obnoxious manner. They are family to each other; they have had to overcome and go through so much together and have stuck by each other through thick and thin.
