About this deal

We had our wonderful writing team of David Cadji-Newby ( Lost My Name) and Julia Gray ( The Wondrous Road Ahead) working their magic on this book. Baby is too impatient to sit through the full verse and the pages get turned rather quickly, so I edit out the gender-restrictive parts. Turning the page reveals a wider view of each scene of bustling life during WW2 in England, in a cluttered but cozy house strewn with toys and laundry. Boxers who have no problems switching from southpaw to orthodox will do fairly well with this style. Upper KS2 children may use this book during their topic lessons on WWII, they may want to pick out the importance of family during this time, such as when the dad is bathing the baby and kissing him goodnight.

Pages clean, crisp, unmarked; hinge broken at title page, otherwise binding tight; cover has minimal edge wear; DJ has some edge wear with a few small tears but in new mylar protective cover; Inscribed and signed by author; illustrated by Jan Choate ; 38 pages.

There are holes cut out in the book to show beautiful watercolour images and the text provides much to talk about because it outlines different subjects and objects. As adults we must know how to take turns, whether it be taking turns in a conversation or taking turns doing a presentation at work. edition, hardback, 32pp [not numbered] + 4pp delightful full page colour plate illustrations by Chloë Preston [blank on reverse], who also provides the silhouette endpaper illustrations. It's a fabulous starter for students exploring British homes, work and family life in the last century.

We take pride in offering a wide selection of used books, from classics to hidden gems, ensuring there?Mary Nickerson at the School Library Journal thought that the illustrations are too complex for babies, but the text is too simple for older children. Myself, along with most parents play the peek-a-boo game because little ones find it so entertaining.

When you try to step in and knock your opponents there’ll be many instances where you’ll be susceptible to incoming shots. If the popular assumption is to be believed, the peek-a-boo only works with boxers who have short stature. Our daughter loves playing peekaboo, and Wonderbly books are her favourite because she's in the pictures! In off-rhythm, the movement isn’t predictable since the punching speed varies along with the overall movement. The loving atmosphere in which the baby lives gives the book a warm feeling, but it is neither simplistic nor sappy. All children from nursery to key stage one will be able to happily read this book or have it read to them by a parent/guardian.
