This is a WOW book for me because I love geography and it presented the information in an interesting way. A Ticket Around the World is written by Natalia Diaz and Melissa Owens and illustrated by Kim Smith. The only reason I think that is because of all of the facts and there are a lot of words on each of the pages. Within the travels, we learn about each country's language, climate, wildlife, landmarks, and traditional food. The only reason it didn't get five was because it is a longer book so small kids might not be able to sit for the whole thing.In the illustrations on each page was an illustration of what those people might look like, landmarks that you might see, and other cultural things that are traditional to that country.

Throughout the book the boy samples foods, views landmarks, and attends cultural events, among other activities. This informational picture book brings engaging nonfiction content to younger readers by showing them how other children just like them live around the world. Summary: A boy travels around the world meeting new people, discovering different things, and learning about each country. It’s important to highlight each culture but also to provide multiple representations that are unique to an authentic in many ways.This gives the reader a world tour via his first-person narration as he samples foods, views landmarks, and attends cultural events, among other activities. The narrator in this book visits friends in 13 different countries, narrating each of them through sampling foods, viewing land marks, attending cultural events and more. This is exactly what we were looking for to teach my 6 year old a little bit about other countries and world cultures (on a broad overview with quick fun facts). One other fun way this book can be used in the classroom is to teach students about travel and geography.
