About this deal

The design of Charizard appears to draw inspiration from dragons of European folklore, with its large wings, horned head, and fiery breath. What makes this particular Charizard card even more valuable is its unique combination of features. Being part of the very first English set ever printed makes it exceptionally rare. Furthermore, it’s the inaugural English Charizard card, which adds to its historical importance. Unlike later editions, it boasts both the 1st edition stamp and the shadowless design, making it a true collector’s gem. PSA Population Reports Next on the list is a stunning and distinctive Ultra Shiny, Full Art Charizard GX card from the 2018 Japanese Sun and Moon set. This particular set, released in Japan, sent ripples of excitement through the Pokémon community, arguably more so than any other modern release.

Most Pokémon card collectors are familiar with the words shadowless and 1st edition, and when they see a Charizard with one or the other, they know it’s valuable. This will spread more and more across other collectible Pokémon cards, increasing their value. The very first Pokemon Game cards were printed in the 1996 Japanese set. The cards without a rarity symbol in the bottom right-hand corner are considered the 1st edition examples. Shining Fates is becoming harder and harder to find, which means the price of this card is going to increase. This promo was included in the Charizard-EX Red & Blue Collection in 2016 as part of the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Celebrations, there was both a Jumbo and Standard sized version of the card included. The card is illustrated byKouki Saitou.

Charizard EX cards (including Mega Evolutions)

Charizard, with its fierce, fiery dragon-like design, has captured the hearts of both young fans and serious collectors. Its value? Well, it’s not just about the card’s aesthetics but its grading. Every Charizard card you’ll see featured on our top list has been vetted, authenticated, and graded by PSA – the leading third-party grading company in the trading card community. Why Grading Matters The first Mega Charizard in the XY Evolutions set recycles the artwork and moveset once again from XY Flashfire. (Thanks to Sam T for this info). Spits fire that it hot enough to melt boulders. Known to unintentionally cause forest fires. Artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita.

This promo is an alternative full art of the Reshirard card from Unbroken Bonds, it was released in the Reshiram & Charizard GX Figure collection alongside a rather cool mini-figure of Reshiram & Charizard. It came in both standard and full art versions. The card was sought after by both collectors and competitive TCG players. It's possibly the nicest looking Reshirard card for me.Illustrasted by Ryota Murayama. When expelling a blast of superhot fire, the red flame at the tip of its tail burns more intensely. The third most expensive Charizard Pokémon card is the base set shadowless. This set was printed shortly after the 1st edition with slightly more print runs. The availability is still scarce compared to the unlimited set but not as rare as the 1st edition. Card Details The Team Up Staff prerelease cards share a striking resemblance with the regular prerelease promos, save for one distinct feature—the gleaming gold Staff stamp adorning the lower left corner of the holographic frame. PSA Grading Statistics CHARIZARD flies around the sky in search of powerful opponents. It breathes fire of such great heat that it melts anything. However, it never turns its fiery breath on any opponent weaker than itself.

Essentially a reprint of the original Base Set Charizard. Spits fire that is hot enough to melt boulders. Known to unintentionally cause forest fires. LV. 76 #6. Artwork byMitsuhiro Arita. The full art version of 20/214 shows new partners Reshiram & Charizard in a more relaxed pose. A really nice looking card and my favourite of the three zards in this set. Illustrated by CG Works. From left to right: Charizard VMAX 020/189, Charizard VMAX 074/073, Shiny Charizard VMAX SV107/SV122. This card came from the Collectors Chest 2019. You may notice on the art the patterns on the Charizard, it's one of Mewtwo's clones, and like many bits from that particular collectors chest its a nod to Pokemon the First Movie. The box also included an Armored Mewtwo Promo. " This Pokemon was created by Mewtwo to prove that copies can be even more powerful than their originals." Charizard flies around the sky in search of powerful opponents. It breathes fire of such great heat that it melts anything. However, it never turns its fiery breath on any opponent weaker than itself.

Covering the extremely awesome Skyridge Charizard and moving through the EX Series cards up to Power Keepers. The rainbow secret rare version of Charizard VMAX was the next to be released in the Champion’s Path expansion, in September 2020. Rainbow cards are a big deal in the community, as they have such a desirable look to them. Many collectors focus on rainbow cards. Staff cards look identical to the promo Charizard cards except for the gold Staff stamp on the bottom left of the holographic box.

A fairly standard Charizard non-action-pose holo sees the zard staring at the holographic moon, a nice simple card illustrated by the notorious Ken Sugimori. From 2002 till now, out of the 2,108 Charizard reverse foil cards that collectors have found and sent for grading, only 81 received the highest grade of PSA gem mint. Considering how visually appealing these cards are, this is a surprisingly low number.
