Kind of bleak and also pretty hand-wavy when it comes to supernatural phenomena such as honest-to-God vampires running around midtown Manhattan, etc. Strange enough the art, even if overall good for my taste, is what sometimes took me out of the story. In this first volume of this well-hyped series Moon Knight's therapy sessions are interspersed with the work of his Midnight Mission protecting his night-time neighbourhood from the likes of vampires and supervillains. I guess Mr Knight is his administrative/normal-ish side when he’s going to therapy and dealing with the running of his mission, and Moon Knight is for when he’s doing generic superhero action? The most prominent figure within the Midnight Mission is its founder and leader: Moon Knight, the former Fist of Khonshu. After he tried to take over the world for Khonshu (sigh), the Avengers have required that Marc Spector see a therapist.A mysterious foe attacks from an unexpected direction, an old friend comes to visit and Marc finds himself answering the same question over and over again: "Why do you wear the mask?
