With an impressive 120W speaker and a built-in subwoofer, the Snowdon provides an audio experience that cannot be provided alone from your television. We currently haven’t received answers to the questions on this product, but will update this page the moment we do. There are strengths and weaknesses, but in terms of improving a flatscreen TV’s audio it’s a satisfactory win for the Snowdon II. Don’t take punchy to mean the subwoofer hits the depths of low frequencies, as it lacks outright weight.
SNOWDON - Majority
The Majority Snowden II is the more composed of the two, which makes for a more detailed, less blaring sound than the Groov-e. Tailor the mode, bass and treble or select from a range of preset equaliser settings to personalise the audio output for every occasion. The modes do make a difference: movie is bassier, whereas dialog pares back the bass so you can hear the treble better.
Despite its size, it’s an all-in-one soundbar: you get a full and bass-rich sound without the need for a subwoofer. So, step up the Majority Audio Snowdon II, a soundbar from the Cambridge-based company that’s a cheaper, less spectacular offering than its Dolby Atmos Sierra Plus model.

The display (or rather LED light) is in the top right-hand corner and changes colour depending on the input chosen (blue for Bluetooth, yellow for optical). We put it through its paces with some Skrillex and it filled the room with party-worthy bass that made the phone’s half-decent sound seem beneath contempt. Audio spans the width of the bar, presenting plenty of space for vocals while balance across the frequency range is decent, though bass can sound ill-defined when coping with a track such as Nelly Furtado’s Maneater. Tailor your audio between music, movie or dialogue and adjust treble and bass settings with the supplied remote to create a sound quality that makes any room feel cinematic. Around the back are RCA and optical digital inputs, with a line-in positioned on the Snowdon’s side. If your using the speaker for just music the sound is not that great but when supported by the TV speakers this is what it’s designed for. In front of any modern TV it will look rather small: it’s wider than most portable Bluetooth speakers, but not as wide as you’d expect a soundbar to be. Soundbars of today feature plenty of fancy tech, but when we get a chance, we like to have a listen to more affordable efforts.
Cheap can be shorthand for nasty where audio is concerned, but the Majority Snowdon II avoids that pitfall. If you are like me who has just bought a brand new TV you might be looking for a soundbar to enhance the sound quality of your TV.

When watching something like Lord of the Rings the soundbar handles the low frequency sounds you get with a film and gives you that something extra. Dialogue is also positioned well on the 55-inch screen the bar is partnered with, with treble clean and relatively sharply reproduced to be distinct from the rest of the frequency range. The RCA cable supplied for analogue input from the TV connect to these and there’s an optical in for digital, too.The remote features EQ customization of bass and treble, though this comes with a caveat that EQ is disabled for Dialog and Movie modes.
