In-game the Secrets will appear simply as golden skull trophies (often on the ground) that you can pick up to collect when you stand next to it. A puzzling murder, interesting location, a love/hate relationship between two senior cops, interesting and well-defined secondary characters and a cleverly thought through plot.

I’m not sure if Dunbar should take it as a compliment that, even though we know what happened at the end of the first series, he remains a shifty presence – still suspicious, still not quite to be trusted. I know the east coast around the Lincolnshire area reasonably well so I can picture some of the places that are mentioned. Filled with twists, peppered with romance, and flavoured with humour, the Wild Fens Murder Mystery series is perfect for fans of JD Kirk, JM Dalgliesh, Ann Cleeves, and Rachel McClean.

By the end, it had wrapped up its story fairly cleanly, but the Hogan family appear to be the unluckiest in all of Ireland.
