About this deal

First off, I had some issues with the pacing especially during the first half. The first half kind of lagged a little bit. The second half though was much tighter plot-wise and character-wise. I still can’t believe you got married without me,” he accuses his best friend. I fight a laugh. “It’s not a team sport, sweetie.” He ignores me. What happened to your tiara and jewelry, little darlin’?” I scoop her up because she’s liable to fall asleep on her tiny feet. “You lose them in the rope tunnel?” I’m trashy. I live with trashy people. I belong in a trashy place. The question is, will I ever be able to rub off the stench of my past to belong at Harvard?

And then we have the conflict of Allie not wanting to get married anytime soon and stopping Dean before he could propose, which was stupid. Even tho it was cute when Allie realised her mistake and propsed to Dean instead. Hannah and Garrett's part was the one I was looking forward the most, because they are my babies. So I was bummed to see how sad they were (Hannah with never finding the right moment to tell Garrett about the pregnancy and Garrett with having to deal with his abusive father all the time).this was supposed to be all cute and nostalgic but shit made me lose brain cells. i kept opening the other books in the series to see if i'm even reading about the right people. EK just went ahead and said "lemme delete who they were and lemme write new characters" like excuse me if you can't even write about your own characters properly then you shouldn't write a new book about them. also this was filled with so much drama, secrets and just plain ass unnecessary communication problems. But the other domestic HannahGarrett moment we got, I ate them up. Garrett is such a dumbass and I love him for it. When he thought that Hannah would be moving out and run to the studio to make his declaration lmao or when he found out that they are expecting twins. Goal of the year, they say, but I say comedian of the year. 😂 I ignore the meaty hand that’s falling to his crotch. I’ve never known a man so desperate to touch his own junk. He makes Homer Simpson look like a gentleman.

Elle Kennedy has ruined all sports romance books for me, and she most likely will ruin them for you as well if you read The Goal! Logan and Grace were only ones with no fighting, their part was the one that me laughing the most. The whole trip to Vermont, elopement, logans new year countdown and ALEXANDER, he is one of the main cause for my stomach ache. Everything I presumed about Sabrina in the previous book were so off base, my first initial thoughts of her were that she was a wee bit above the rest in money and status, but that is so far off base it's not funny, she's not had it easy, she lives with a sleazy step father that sends creepy crawlies up and down my spine, and a gran who I just didn't melt towards at all, she struggles to just make ends meet and doesn't have a dime to scratch together. the unexpected baby trope is not one everyone likes, and i totally understand why, but i liked how it was executed here. i didn’t find it to be done ridiculously, and i found it to be a cute addition to the story. it added to sabrina’s character to show how strong she is and how difficult motherhood is.

the ”distance and busy” problem has to go. i saw that in jamie and wes in the book ”his” and its not a a nice plot. why recycle something she’s already done one?? I have a few things to say and the rant can't wait to leave my body, but this... thing... summed up in three main thoughts? here it is: These two finally have some time away alone together in a tropical paradise, but things don't really go according to plan. There's a creepy haunted doll (that's featured in each novella) and some big decisions to be made about both their careers. Gee, no I wasn't. But thank you so much for insulting both me AND my parents in one fell swoop. LOL

To my knowledge, the majority of what we know about Sabrina before reading this book is that she is a pre-law student like Dean, works really had and is “competitive” about her grades, and that she’s a you-know-what and is rather cold hearted. But again, that’s what Dean told everyone because Sabrina didn’t really mix with any of his friends. Ray leers in return. “Da-amn, you look hot tonight. You’ve turned into a real babe, Rina. You and me should get it on.” How remarkable is this?” Kevin says, eyes wide. “It just came in with the tide and floated right up to our feet.” A curious Sabrina steps forward before I can stop her. “What is it?” Then she sees Alexander and starts to cry.

Is this some new fertility ritual?” he drawls from the doorway, one shoulder propped against the frame. “Because she’s already pregnant, you know.” Sabrina's goal was to leave behind all the ugly and show her doubters, she would rise above her circumstances. Sabrina was in her senior college year awaiting to hear if she was accepted by Harvard Law. She had been working 2 jobs, taking a full load and saving every penny so she would be able to support herself once in law school.

I'm the overachiever, the bitch who studies her ass off and works every second of every day to try to climb out of the gutter she was born in so she can stand next to all these Briar kids without feeling inferior.”i loved sabrina. the previous books don’t give us an insight into her persona besides hinting at a bad reputation. she’s referred to as toxic by dean (from the score) and he also calls her a bitch. there’s never really a reason this happens besides the fact that they hooked up and he knows better than to do it again. i've been wanting to read the deal since 2016. i was 15/16 when i considered reading the first book, and i gotta say, i'm glad i didn't. 15/16-year-old me would have definitely loved every book in this series and fallen for all the men. i would have definitely overlooked the flaws i saw in every book and thought of them as some of the best. but alas, we all grow and change (not that there is anything wrong with liking these books, i mean my taste(s) and interest(s) in books have changed a lot).
