Rider Link is not bad at all, it just has some surprising quirks and downsides that you might not expect.

By playing Twilight Princess HD, you can use the Wolf Link Amiibo to enter the exclusive Cave of Shadows. If you are on a budget, this is an Amiibo that could be skipped as well to focus on higher quality and more visually interesting Amiibo. Saving this will mean that summoning Wolf Link in Breath of the Wild will appear with however many hearts you had at the end of the dungeon.

By using them at the end of the dungeon before saving your progress, you can ensure that a maximum heart Wolf Link will be saved. It’s going pretty slowly so far – I’ve only managed to complete Oracle of Seasons from the list – but that’s mostly down to putting 100+ hours into the sublime Xenoblade Chronicles X, as well as going mad for Fire Emblem.
